The reconciled bill will still have to pass with at least 60 votes in the Senate. This ain't over yet.It also has to be signed by a POTUS eligible, under the Constitution, to hold the office.

I agree that Specter, Snowe and Collins MUST be replaced.

When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic. Benjamin Franklin
Change the word “people” to Special Interest and Ole Ben is right on.

Snowe, Collins and Specter... they only need 2... I think the Maine Senators would happily vote for nationalized medicine and concentration camps for conservatives

And Gregg abstained? Now that's courage. --
LOL. I think it's symbolic as the nominee to be Commerce Secretary. He doesn't want to give any appearance of taking a side.

Could I recommend that we all send emails to these Senators demanding they now just switch parties? The CHARADE is over.

Folks, here's a stat that you can share with your friends that will get across how much money were spending.
The earliest that Jesus could have been born is 7 BC. To keep the math easy, lets start with the entire year of 6 BC. That's (6 X 365) + 1 (got to be a leap day in there somewhere) for a total of 2,190 days.
Then, there have been 2008 years since the beginning of the year 1 AD until the end of 2008. So, making sure we count the 504 leap days (yes, I know that for part of this time they weren't on the calendar) that's (2008 X 365) + 504 = 733,424 days. Adding in the 41 days so far this year we get 733,465.
Divide that into the stimulus total and we find that we are about to spend at least $1.14 million for every day that has passed since the birth of Jesus Christ.
And here's the kicker: If the CBO is to be believed, it will actuallly SHRINK the economy.
