:( I miss my President Bush.
If one looks at reality rather than democrat nonsense, the facts are that Bush was reelected and got to complete his most important policies. Those would be the WOT and his tax cuts. The democrats barely laid a glove on him. And despite Bush’s more recent unpopularity and the economic crisis, McCain almost beat Obama to boot.
Bush’s foreign policy was a dramatic success. His tax cuts were a domestic success.
The spending and bailout were not.
I miss W
I want to send him a nice note... thanking him for what he did. Anyone know how to figure out where to send it?
The Democrats have grandly declared domestic policy to be their bailiwick and have moved with great dispatch to take advantage of what appears to be not much worse than a looming recession in order to advance the reach of government. As a consequence their foreign policy, never a strong point, now takes on the grotesque superficiality of a Punch and Judy show. It does not bode well for our allies, because Obama takes them for granted in a doomed effort to make our enemies our friends. Things are about to get much worse with respect to American foreign policy, I fear, and the international press will be doing its best to mask the damage as it did in the days of Carter. This could be a very bumpy ride ahead of us.
From another major attack by Islamo-facists, yes, but not from the daily criminal and/or socio-economic attack by an illegal alien horde Bush welcomed with open arms.
John Howard and Australia under him was a great ally to the United States.
Good piece.

Most historians are liberal. I doubt they'll be willing to revise the record on Dubya and publicly recognize the success of his foreign policy in the WOT.
Thank you Mr. Howard.
And as an aside, the Huffington Post can kiss my ass. If the Liberals think they're going to publicly humiliate this honorable man in one of their mock courts, there'll be a revolution yet in this country, and it won't be pretty...
Yeah, but he didn’t give everybody a free house and job, like Obama promises.
Commentators shape opinion for a living, hence they crow about their successes. What is "surprising" about that?

The Leader - anonymous
Patient and steady with all he must bear,
Ready to accept every challenge with care,
Easy in manner, yet solid as steel,
Strong in his faith, refreshingly real,
Isn’t afraid to propose what is bold,
Doesn’t conform to the usual mold,
Eyes that have foresight, for hindsight wont do
Never back down when he sees what is true
Tells it all straight, and means it all too
Going forward and knowing he’s right
Even when doubted for why he would fight.
Over and over he makes his case clear
Reaching to touch the ones who won’t hear
Growing in strength, he won’t be unnerved
Ever assuring he’ll stand by his word
Wanting the world to join his firm stand.
Bracing for war, but praying for peace
Using his power so evil will cease:
So much a leader and worthy of trust,
Here stands a man who will do what he must

He successfully dealt with the biggest challenge of his eight years in office. Against all expectations there was no further terrorist attack on the United States in the seven remaining years of his administration which followed 11 September 2001. To say this now is to invite yawns and derision from most commentators, seemingly desperate to deny him any credit...Guess the author's a lurker. ;')
Time (not the magazine) will vindicate President Bush.
