This sounds like the beginning of the latest media drumbeat to prepare us for the government making supplements illegal or prescription only - “pharmaceutical quality” supplements.

This has been a movement of the politically influential pharmaceutical companies for some time. They would like to eliminate the competition from natural supplements. Now with Marxists at the helm, who want unprecedented control over our lives and access to healthcare, their chances of succeeding are better than before.

Thanks for the link to the study. I'm not a huge vitamin proponent, but the Annals of Internal Medicine should be ashamed to publish it. What a design! Retrospective questioning of patients on what and how they take vitamins, for conditions that nobody claims are affected (see calcium in the list!).

Two words: Codex Alimentarius.

You have to take more than multivitamins.

Multivitamins can keep you from getting a cold.

But other supplements are needed for special needs, such as heart conditions, osteoporosis, low red blood cell count, etc.
