If there were Republicans that voted for this bill, and conservatives threaten to vote them out of office, wont there be a greater chance of their seats being filled with democrats?

Yes but that's why they need to be defeated in their primaries. Spector almost fell victom to a primary challenge but the Bush admin backed him to the hilt.

The 3 should be striped of all committee assignments and given 80 sq. ft. offices in the basement.
