Mexico mayhem could lead to government’s collapse

At a time of increased violence, corruption, and financial strain, Mexico is reported to be on the verge of collapse.

US troops stationed near the border are warned not to go into Mexico, 200 Americans have been killed in Mexico since 2004, and the U.S. Department of Defense recently listed Mexico second only to Pakistan as a country capable of completely collapsing.

In response to what appears to be near-anarchy in Mexico, Texas law enforcement is preparing for the worst; though, officials acknowledge that preparations for a huge influx of refugees may also be necessary.

The town of Juárez, Mexico, which lies just across the border from El Paso, has already seen 200 murders this year. This has caused increasing numbers of the town’s residents to flee to the north.

US President Barack Obama has yet to indicate how his administration would respond if the dueling drug cartels that control much of Mexico bring down Mexico’s weakened central government.

Advanced planning for Mexico’s disintegration must be taking place at the highest levels within the US Military, FEMA, and the Homeland Security Administration, as such an occurrence could set off a series of events that is likely to create social dislocations and public unrest far greater than those caused by Hurricane Katrina, and possibly even September 11, 2001.

“If it were not for the shear messiness of the take over, ought we consider Texas taking over Mexico. Removing the Narco Terrorists, and removing Texas form the Obamanation.”

If American’s didn’t use illegal drugs the narco-terrorists that are destroying Mexico wouldn’t exist.

But of course, we all know drug use is a vitimless crime that doesn’t hurt anyone.

BS

You are trying to say that Mexico is a failure because people in the U.S. are drug users.

BS

Mexico is a failure because of a thoroughly Corrupt Government and Corrupt ruling class.

And we have just elected a “Ruler” who is of the same ilk.

...and establish the rule of law and the US Constitution.

Why? We can't even get it our shameless politicians to abide by those here. LOL!

It is scary. Living 18 miles from the Mexican border makes you think a lot about defense because you couldn’t shoot them all. I told my husband we’d have to dig trenches and fill them with sharpened bamboo sticks aroung the perimeter of our land or at least our houses.

I don’t envy you! I’m 800 miles from the border, and I think about it, too! Mexican drug cartels all over our local mountains, armed, growing dope.

So, what are you noticing lately...more crossing, fewer, what?

I don’t see any crossing anymore since President Bush put the NG down here and then filled out the BP ranks that had been decimated when he sent so many to the northern border after 9/11.

I’m just afraid of what might happen if/when the government fails. Mexico is a perfect example of gun control, only the criminals have guns, the average citizen has no means of defense and the criminals know that.
