I would actually say that at this point, it is more important to join these groups than to buy guns and ammo. They are the ones out on the front lines defending our natural rights or self defense. As an aside, a local gunstore has a picture of Obama with the message below it saying he is gun salesmen of the month, three months running!

Really? When unemployment reaches 25% (it's already at 13.9% [U-6]), and chaos breaks out, will the NRA come and help you keep burglers out of your house?

No, Actually you and I and thousands like US are the front line, the Gun Rights Groups like GOA,NRA and others are Political Action Committees (PACs) supported BY us. That is why ALL Gun Owners must join in the up-coming battles for our freedoms or all will be lost...

Dick Heller runs the foundation and ALL proceeds go to the upcoming 2nd Amendment cases. These guys are the ONLY ones that have actually been pro-active on the 2nd Amendment and that have successfully gotten a win in the courts for us.
