Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said on Sunday he'll vote against President Barack Obamas stimulus bill, calling the legislation generational theft in an interview on CBS Face the Nation.
I thought we were going to have change," he said, in a shot at Obama's campaign slogan, "and that change meant we work together. This is a setback. This is a setback to all Americans because you promised Americans wed work in a more bipartisan fashion, and that certainly is not the case in this bill, McCain said.
McCain said the bill would saddle Americans with billions in future debt, and contained protectionist provisions that could be damaging to the economy.
Were going to amass the largest debt in the history of this country by any measurement, and were going to ask our kids and grandkids to pay for it, McCain said.
I know were in trouble. I know America needs a stimulus, we need tax cuts, we need to spend money on infrastructure and other programs that will put people to work. But this is not it.

That about sums it up.
Amazing insight. Why, you're even capable of looking inside McCain's mind and seeing his motives at any given moment.......
You also are fairly idiotic is you really believe this.
His abortion record compared to the flaming pro-abortionist you just helped elect are vastly different.
You just helped get abortions funded overseas and a high-level terrorist freed. Thanks for the upcoming socialist medicine program as well. You're a real jewel.
The fruits of his actions are plain to see. For those with two working brain cells anyway. I don’t need to read his mind. The fact that it is a long standing pattern with McRINO just strengthens the obvious conclusion.
I see a temporary tax rebate.
I see no tax cuts.
How the hell did I help elect 0bama?
You are absolutely right. I must not let emotion get in the way of reason. Arguing with idiots is useless.
What you're doing is disagreeing with him all the time no matter what he says, tarring him no matter if he's right or not, perhaps even to the point of disagreeing with him even when he's right.
Knock off the personal attacks and name calling. Thanks.
That is a lot of assumptions and accusations about me you can’t back up. McCain is a treasonous bastard who deserves no respect. He gets none from me.
You are the type you're pointing to.
You just can't deal with the truth, you have little else to offer but petty rants all the time, you have nothing good to add, so go back to the Odooma campaign and rejoice.
You won.
John McCain to seek higher-profile role [so much betrayal, so little time] [BARF!]

"For example, three sources close to McCain say he is hoping to secure a seat on the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee in order to work with its Democratic chairman, Ted Kennedy, on health care reform."
Heading over to the Senate's Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee's Web site yields the following screenshot:
Now, we all know what Kennedy intends for us. And, McCain intends to help Kennedy.
Yeah, riiiight. we, personally, influenced over 7m people. What a ridiculous thing to say. If that is the case, then you had better convince us, as we must be a powerful force...
As always, the 1%ers proved to be closer to the truth than the rest of you. Next time choose a Reaganite.
There was nothing "unwitting" about it by the way. I knew precisely what I was doing, and I will rise to do it again tomorrow.
Republicans do not get to choose socialism. If they do, they deserve my ire, and they will get it. And any RINO who thinks to run off with the Reagan Conservative banner or the mantle of the Christian Right will get the same in spades.
[Where were you?]
I was right here. I voted for Juan. If he had taken it to 0 and the dims during the campaign like he is now he would have won.
Unfortunately he was operating under the delusion (and maybe he still is) that 0 and the dims are honorable people. We all know better than that.
bump to roamer_1
You actually want Repubs to NOT work on the Health committee?
I didn't say that.
But, you know full well what happens whenever McCain "works" with a Democrat, especially someone like Kennedy.
The inevitable end result is McCain-{Lieberman|Kennedy|Feingold}.
And, you know full well what sort of "health care reform" plan Kennedy will come up with.
There's the problem... ;)
You helped get socialized medicine in the the bag.
McCain will water it down by being on the committee, but mostly likely will not be able to stop it.
Again, you'll blame him for its passage because a Repub has to help negotiate the bill, but your type is really to blame.
