It will be against a domestic enemy, not a foreign enemy.

It will not be North & South, but Free Men vs “Reds”.

You should be with him.

I’m taking my wife and the two kids out to the range in about 30 minutes.

Texas is not California, and will not be like California.

AMEN to that, brother.

Someone has to stay home with the kids today, but I’ll be taking the CCW class myself in March. I’m sure our kids must wonder why we now go shooting once or twice a week, all of a sudden, but they both enjoy it, and I tell them it’s a skill that could help get them nice college scholarships someday.

College scholarships?

Hmm, I’ll have to look into that!

Firearms are one thing, but it looks like folks should also be stocking up on ammo...and MRE’s, canned goods, bottled water, fuel stocks, precious metals, and whatever else they may need to ‘get by’ for a while.

I know I've done my part. The new refrigerator can wait until another day. The government isn't about to put GE out of business.

A lot of people are uneasy. They aren't stupid and see the handwriting on the wall.

Not only do they fear the actions of "our" government but the precipitous rise of drugs and vicious gangs in every corner of the country. The chaos in Mexico and a massively increased illegal immigrant flood (soon probably coming to our own neighborhoods) is likely a factor as well.

They also know this government is going to do nothing but aid and abet these trends.

Pause a moment and ask exactly who is buying the guns in Michigan.

Aside from a good .22 rifle (and perhaps a .22 pistol), you’ve outlined a pretty good basic battery there.

Hey buddy, long time no hear. Ditto’s on the POS. In my circle he’s referred to as Barack Mugabe.

Every Wal Mart I go in I look for the Jumbo Value packs of 9mm, 38 special, 45ACP and whatever they have in rifle calibers (use mostly 30-06). If they have it, I buy it. Only trouble is they don’t seem to be restocking any of it so you’re left to scrounging in areas where people don’t have guns.

Me too. I refuse to call him president.

I can’t turn the TV or radio off quick enough to avoid Der Fuhrer. He has done so much damage already. He is wasting no time in implementing damaging policies. I am sure he is a one termer. Still, 4 years seems like an eternity to suffer through his rule.

Even if you try to avoid Hussein, he’s everywhere. The libs are so enamored with him it makes me sick. There are cracks in his teflon though. After he dropped charges on the Cole attackers last week, a member of the McDaniels family was on Fox, and she said she is sorry she voted for Zero now. Many are going to have buyer’s remorse just like she does.

I just consider us to be a country without a president for the next 4 years. He really has not met the Constitutional requirement of proving being natural born, so until he does (which is never), he is not president. No way. No how. I just hope he doesn’t get thousands of us killed with his foolish policies.

My son-in-law when I first met him had to approach me while I was cleaning my guns. He looked a little apprehensive and he asked me what I did with the guns - do I go hunting? I told him, "I didn't buy these guns to kill no animals with four legs."

Hi Bud, good to see you too!

I never did do anything with that lever action Winchester 30-30. It's still in the case under the bed...lol. I should get it out and try some of the recommendations that were at that website.

Did ya get the Marlin MR-7 shooting to your standards yet?

I have a 30.06, which for my purposes, fills the need of the saddle gun. A 2" .38, a .45 Glock, a .22 semi auto rifle and .22 pistol. So the saddle gun and the 4" .357 are, IMHO, repetitive. I don't have a good shotgun, so that's the only real hole in my inventory, AFAIC.

I'm not real big on having a huge inventory, particularly of different similar calibers, as the ammo, unlike the guns, has an effective life span, and the ammo inventory can get expensive.

I’ve never needed a gun, but I’ve had a couple of times that if I hadn’t had a gun, I would have. I avoid trouble at almost all costs, but there have been a couple of times trouble followed me to a dead end, and I don’t like to think about what would have happened if I had been bare handed. The sight of the weapon sent them away, so thank God I’ve never had to shoot.

I’m delighted with the MR-7! It’s superbly accurate with Hornady 168gr. handloads, and I still can’t get over how well made it is. They are everything you said they are and better. I managed to find an extra magazine for it on GunBroker.

Guns aren’t very useful if you can’t get ammo...

That would be why ammo sales are through the roof also... and reloading components... Luck always favors the prepared!
