The $827 billion measure is likely to pass next week despite stiff opposition from the GOP and disappointment among Democrats, including the new president who labeled it imperfect.
"Democrats have controlled both branches of government for less than a month. And you have to wonder if all that power has gone to their heads," Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele said in the GOP's weekly address. "For the last two weeks, they've been trying to force a massive spending bill through Congress under the guise of economic relief."

On SNL,Reid and Pelosi characters more or less confirmed the Porkulus is an outrageous overspending leftist turkey with NO bipartisan support i.e,Obama and the Dems own the economy raping monster.
Their portrayal of Pelosi as a demented,demonic and vindictive bitch bent on partisan revenge was accurate but their portrayal of Reid as fairly reasonable was totaly off base.

What have those 4 Republicans (I think it was four) been promised?
The bill has to go to a committee for reconciliation and then that bill has to go back to both houses for approval.

But the 'Rats wouldn't. Which is why the DSCC didn't do much to try to win the seat. They like Snowe and Collins right where they are.
