Now For Something Really Different

Now for something really different Wesley Pruden Friday, February 6, 2009

ANALYSIS/OPINION:

The messiah of November has disappeared, gone off to winter somewhere in another galaxy and lounge among the stars. Who knows when (or whether) he'll return. He left a gloomy surrogate with a melancholy message.

The messiah promised "change" but so far demonstrates only that the men we send to live in the White House have changed. FDR called our stoic grandparents to the fireside to tell them there was nothing to fear but fear itself. They believed him, pulled up their socks, survived the Great Depression and went on to fight and win a great world war.

Dr. Doom tells us that fear is the best friend we're likely to find. Ronald Reagan arrived in Washington to clean up after Jimmy Carter, demonstrated that it's still morning in America, and won the Cold War.

Dr. Doom tells us that it's late on a dark and stormy night, grovels toward Mecca, and tells ghost stories.

Well worth reading the entire article! This guy has it figured out pretty well.

BTW, this reminds me of the ‘stimulus’ that Bill Clinton championed in his early days in office. Remember how badly he told us he had been misled by the outgoing administration? How critical his bill was, that without it the economy would never recover, etc. Well, the Republicans shot it down and lo’ and behold, the economy managed to limp along after all. Same thing here as far as I can tell.

Obama's doom & gloom has to do with one thing - him.

To "fix" Drudge's headline:

THE FEAR: PASS IT NOW, OR WE I MAY NEVER RECOVER

Me thinks President Obama is finding out that being President is a bit harder than running a campaign. Remember how that was his chief experience?

The majority of the Dem faithful won’t be put off by the revelation that The Messiah is just another hack from Chicago. They’ve got their snouts buried deep in the trough, and they won’t be concerned about a few crooked Dem pols. They know a lot more where they came from. But there is grumbling among the fence-sitters who took a plunge on The Great Spreader hoping he’d be a tad different. He isn’t. He’s just another slimy pol in way over his head.
