TAMPA Florida Republican chairman Jim Greer said Wednesday that longtime Hillsborough state committeewoman Carol Carter may lose her position because of the racial joke she forwarded in an e-mail.
"Carol Carter has been a hard-working, loyal Republican for many years, but this action I have no tolerance for, regardless of the circumstances or intent," a furious Greer said of Carter's e-mail.
Concerning her future, Greer said, "I am currently considering all options, including my authority to remove her from the office of state committeewoman."
The e-mail read:

I'm confused
How can 2,000,000 blacks get into Washington, DC in 1 day in sub zero temps when 200,000 couldn't get out of New Orleans in 85 degree temps with four days notice?
Carol Carter
Not standing up to them is the problem ... there was nothing that should have been a problem here. STAND YOUR GROUND people
They used the yellow buses in DC.
I received same email, thought it was quite funny.
Why is that considered racial? Because the word “black” was used? I thought we were supposed to use that term, ‘black’ instead of the others. It isn’t a joke! It is the absolute truth.
Still, it wasn't quite 2 million ~ that would be the only criticism.
The people themselves provided part of the answer ~ for one thing there were no arrests on the Mall that way ~ not that arrests might not have been needed, but the people attending appear to have taken care of troublemakers early and often.
Second, there was some degree of organization to the effort. We had both an ingress and an egress that day ~ roughly akin to moving large numbers into New Orleans in the face of the storm, and then moving large numbers out of there as the storm moved in.
So, the crowd cooperated, authorities did the right thing, the permenant party community (people like me), were prepared to deal with it, and it turned out OK.
BTW, my neighborhood provided parking for something like 50,000 out of town automobiles, and that was not a acasual endeavor. Those folks all rode to DC on the Metrorail system.
And this is the root problem with the republican party.NO BACK BONE.Just exactly what is untrue with the joke?I tell it to blacks all the time and they laugh. You would not believe the replys from some.

Stop apologizing for making factual observations.
Stop pretending that everyone responds to life’s challanges like adults.
Stop pretending that we aren’t saddled with millions of lazy but able bodied people riding the backs of taxpayers snd sucking the marrow from our bones.
If that quote is racist, put me on the racist list.
This country has gone completely friggen insane. I wish her quote would fit in my tag-line.
HAD to save that one, it’s hilarious and SO true!! ROFL
The woman is wrong, Kartrina did not give anyone four day’s notice.
Florida Republican chairman Jim Greer should be b*tch slapped, strapped to a little red wagon and pushed into a canal.....
I read a funnier one than that.
Interesting, The National Weather Service issued its first notice of the Tropical Depression that would later become Katrina at 5:00 p.m. on August 23, 2005.

Katrina hit New Orleans on September 29, 2005.
Katrina entered the Gulf of Mexico and became a hurricane on Friday, August 26, 2005. Again, Katrina hit the Gulf Coast on the morning of August 29th.

So, I really do not understand how you or anyone else could have watching the weather system that became Katrina nearly three weeks prior to its hitting New Orleans.
I watched what became known as a hurricane since it was a "wave".
