(IsraelNN.com) Indian Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon has linked Pakistan's ISI spy agency to the deadly terrorist attacks in Mumbai last year. Menon made the connection in a speech in Paris on Wednesday that was released to the media Thursday.
"The perpetrators [of the Mumbai attacks] planned, trained and launched their attacks from Pakistan, and the organizers were and remain clients and creations of the ISI, Menon accused.
Menon had previously accused Pakistan of failing to bring the attackers to justice, and Indian officials have said the Mumbai attackers must have had support from within Pakistani agencies. However, Menon's latest speech is the first time the ISI has been blamed by name.
Pakistan has denied official involvement in the attacks, but has agreed that Pakistani terrorists were responsible.
India has accused Pakistani terrorist group Lashkar e-Taiba of carrying out the attacks. The group has attacked India in the past, and Mumbai police say it was behind a series of attacks in mid-2006 that murdered more than 200 people.
On November 26, 2008, terrorists struck ten locations across Mumbai in a coordinated attack that lasted for three days. Terrorists used automatic weapons and grenades to murder their victims. At least 173 people were killed and 308 were wounded in the attacks.
Among the locations targeted was the Nariman House run by local Chabad emissaries Gavriel and Rivka Holtzberg. The Holtzbergs were murdered in the attack along with four Jewish guests, most of them Israeli. Their young son Moshe was rescued by his nanny.
Well, Surprise!, Surprise!, Surprise!
It’s a prime indicator of our war on a tactic that this statement even merits newsworthiness.
Eventually the West will wake up, but by that time, inshallah, it’ll be too late ;>
Developments are fast and furious on the ground -
-US supply routes into Afghanistan under heavy strain - a critical gateway bridge destroyed - another convoy and truck farm torched - defections from the Frontier Corps (the repository of US hopes, getting training and funding) to the jihadis, or at least a promise to not fight the jihadis - a simmering insurgency in Baluchistan caused by the Pakistani State ripping of their own citizenry from natural gas and resources revenues - Peshawar under defacto control of the Talibs - civilians fleeing the Swat Valley towards Islamabad.
And Islamabad trembles and waits, jihadis at the gates, uncertainty about the loyalties of Army officers below the rank of General and rumors of a major jihadi offensive..
What blows first? Mexico or Pakistan?
