Whistleblower Harry Markopolos testified to Congress on Wednesday that he brought his evidence about Madoff to the Washington, D.C. bureau of the Wall St. Journal in 2006. He said that a reporter was ready to fly to Boston after reviewing his material, but WSJ editors stopped any further work on the story. See:

Who at the WSJ stopped the story from being told in 2006?
Probably some editor who had $$$ invested with Madoff spiked that story
Hope it was that awful John Harwood.
ditto. i want to hit that guy with a frying pan!
Has this been reported anywhere and has anybody asked the WSJ about it?
He's right up there with Matthews and Olberman when it come to Obama Tingle Syndrome (OTS).
And were any pols running interference for Madoff? Inquiring minds want to know...
Was this what the WSJ got in '06? If so, they've really got some splainin' to do....
