TERROR WATCH Michael Isikoff andMark Hosenball War on Words Why Obama may be abandoning Bush's favorite phrase. Feb 4, 2009
In another effort to undo the legacy of George W. Bush's presidency, the Obama administration is searching for alternatives to the term "war on terror."
In recent days, Obama's national-security officials have had brainstorming sessions to come up with different ways to describe the U.S. government's efforts to defeat Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan, according to administration sources who asked not to be identified talking about private discussions.
What's being sought is a more precise phrase that can recast the U.S. government's counterterrorism fight in ideological as well as military terms.
Obama publicly signaled the new approach this week. When asked about the "war on terror" phrase by CNN's Anderson Cooper, Obama said,
"Well you know, I think it is very important for us to recognize that we have a battle or a war against some terrorist organizations
Words matter in this situation because one of the ways we're going to win this struggle is through the battle of hearts and minds."

“War on Terror” becomes “Dialoguing with Al Qaeda”
“Colonoscopy” becomes “Scoping for dollars”
“The War on Terror will be over when all the terrorists are shovel ready.”
LOL, a good one.
“If you stop hating on us I’ll buy you a pony”?
How about: “The National Sensitivity Campaign for the Cooperative Prevention of Violence”?
Libs are beginning to see that words mean things.
In this case, the “War on Terror,” Libs are running into a wall over something akin to acknowledging that a pig is a pig.
By jove, man, I think you’ve got it.
What a charming idea. How about we call it The 1400-Years War, and try to end it with a decisive victory for Western civilization over Islam one or before the 1400’s anniversary of the birth of Mohammed?
The reason that Marxist Obama is having high level meetings on what to call the War on Terror is that they need to make sure that Dubya (or our troops) gets little credit for the successes that were and will be so hard-won.
When his crack team of word wizards (could Mr. Gibbs be among them?) comes up with a suitably humanistic euphemism for the War On Terror, then Obama-the-narcissist will be more easily credited with success than Dubya, his predecessor, by the likes of Mister Isikoff. (Naturally, however, if Obama screws it all up, Isikoff will blame Dubya.)
.
“The Charge of the Light Facade”???
LOL.
Democrats can only campaign, they cannot lead.
Just like Clinton, Mr. Obama will continue to spout meaningless phrases to make people feel better, but solve nothing.
>Instead of the War on Terror, how about the

How about “Our struggle to understand them more”?
I’m sure they’ve hired some marketing focus group to come up with the new phrase which meets the following requirements:
1) Must in no way convey an image of being militaristic.
2) Sound positive, not negative.
3) Cannot in anyway be construed as being racist, sexist, or homophobic.
4) And above all else, nobody’s feelings or self-esteam can be hurt by it.
>>Obama will soon have manifold souls to tally in the afterlife.<<
And the MSM will be right beside him. B******s.
Yeah, that's good -- more compact. In fact, about just the
Struggle for Understanding
"Either you are with us or you are for the terrorists."
