Actually, H.R. 45 would require all firearms be registered regardless of type, when manufactured, or how obtained by the current owner (and no grand-father clause). There are other requirements in that bill that are simply frightening. Plus, there’s another bill (can’t recall the designation) which will require all ammunition be manufactured with an electronic tag (for each round) after (if I recall correctly) June 2009 - all ammunition that does not have the electronic tag will be required to be destroyed after 2011. Even if they don’t grab your guns, it won’t matter - there won’t be any ammunition available.

It's so bad that HR 45 is mired in the House Judiciary Committee with no cosponsors.

Folks should be aware of that, and take action now to avoid the ‘Christmas rush’.

I don’t care for this one bit.

Anything that limits anything short of a 50mm weapon*, or a fully automatic weapon*, is just a bold attempt to put an end to the second amendment. These things should be challenged by the NRA from their inception.

I wish the SCOTUS would rule that almost no gun laws are permissible. England has proven that this is not the way to go. It’s citizens have awoken, and they are angry.

*Some folks would argue that these should be available to all the public as well, but I can’t quite get there myself.
