A NY Times best-selling author says the mainstream media has finally crossed the line and is now threatening America's democracy by moving from the role of just cheerleaders to active participants in the political arena.
Bernard Goldberg's latest book is called 'A Slobbering Love Affair: The True (and Pathetic) Story of the Torrid Romance Between Barack Obama and the Mainstream Media.'
Goldberg says biased coverage of the 2008 presidential campaign shredded and irrevocably ended any trust in the mainstream media by most of the American public.
"This time they crossed a very bright line -- and it moved from media bias to media activism," the author contends.
"This time they were on a noble mission. This time they were trying to help elect a president for historical reasons.
They love Barack Obama because he was young, he was cool, he was black, and he was liberal."
But Goldberg says the media did not do themselves or the new president any favors. "When something goes wrong, he's going to have a hard fall because they made him out to be a kind of messiah," he adds.
"But it's not good for the rest of us. It's not good for the country because the press is supposed to be the watchdog of a very powerful government for all of us."
Goldberg questions how the media is going to cover somebody they "slobbered over so much."
Probably right...
I FINALLY got my husband to stop subscribing to our local paper, even though he loves the sports section.
No question about it--all of the above, with EMPHASIS on LIBERAL.
Those are the very same reasons they viscerally hate and absolutely despise Sarah Palin,,,,
she is family-oriented and old-fashioned (5 kids), white, and worst of all,,,
CONSERVATIVE!
The San Francisco Chronicle loses $1MM per month, they rabidly endorse anything anti-American, perverted or anti-capitalist, thus their love affair with Barry Soetero.
Goldberg’s books are never disappointing; I’m putting this one on my list.
Congratulations! Get a neighbor to give him the sports section. Even if its yesterdays edition they usually say the same stuff for days on end.
He’s agreed to read the sports section on line, even though he likes holding the paper in his hand.....
This is going to be very tough for him.
I hope we can get through it...:)
He's NOT cool unless you ask zer0 himself, in fact he's actually really nerdy. He isn't black, he's a mulatto, just as much white as black and he is more elitist than most whites. He isn't liberal, he's a Communist.

My father was the same way but I bring him the sports section and funny papers from a local pub I frequent. You must be a very persuasive woman and he must respect you bunches. Considering everything else that shakes up and strains relations this is pretty small potatos, you’ll get through it. He can live without the paper more easily than without you. You never get through or over that sort of thing.
Thank you
Did your father adjust?
OH, yeah. It took a while but he is in his 90s and says things like, “how come they call that team ‘the Rockies’ when none of them look like Sylvester Stallone?” I think hes kidding but sometimes I’m not so sure.
I added all those sports sites to my favorites list.
...:)
Bernard Goldberg on O’Reilly now...
