The Impending Obama Meltdown
National Review Online ^ | February 4, 2009 | Victor Davis Hanson

Posted on 02/04/2009 5:20:52 AM PST by libstripper

Some of us have been warning that it was not healthy for the U.S. media to have deified rather than questioned Obama, especially given that they tore apart Bush, ridiculed Palin, and caricatured Hillary. And now we can see the results of their two years of advocacy rather than scrutiny.

We are quite literally after two weeks teetering on an Obama implosion—and with no Dick Morris to bail him out—brought on by messianic delusions of grandeur, hubris, and a strange naivete that soaring rhetoric and a multiracial profile can add requisite cover to good old-fashioned Chicago politicking.

Curious George is a puppet reading a script.

As we sink into the deepest depression, attention will be focused on the script rather than the reader.

Curious is specially trained by Saul Alinsky to deliver the tough ‘news’ to the public.

The Left is and has been banking that no one will overly criticize 0 because of his skin color

Actually, his election proved that America is not racist...so Barry is now fair game.

“If BO actually spent time governing and not campaigning, he wouldn’t be making horribly unrealistic promises.”

I wonder if this guy has some sort of ADD.

He has a habit of “wanting” a job, but once he gets it, he doesn’t actually “do” the job - and then he starts his quest for his next job.

And now after only 2 weeks, he tells the kiddies at the local school he’s already tired of being in the White House?
And Michelle adds on that her job doesn’t pay well?

unbelievable.

So now I’m wondering if we would be any better off with Biden?

It’s really sad that this is the quality of people we wound up with.

So many disasters, such little time.

I don’t think they have the ratings to prop him up.
The ratings will come from everybody watching him fall.

Good column. It now seems likely that 0 will actually replace Jimmy Carter at the bottom of the heap of dim ne’er-do-wells. This does not bode well for our republic.

Obama's policies are pure Carterism. Tax and spend our way to prosperity at home, talk nice and everyone will love us abroad.

The fact that neither policy has ever worked has always been ignored by the blindly faithful Obamaites and their cultish media co-religionists.

” How do explain FDR never getting thrown out of office during an even worse financial time? “

A good con artist will leave his mark denying that he’s been conned...

A GREAT con artist will leave his marks defending him against all critics and charges....

I don’t think that the “0” will live up to that.....

“Another point, in Bambi’s interview he told Wallace that the biggest shock or surprise or whatever the question was about becoming president was that “his decisions affect people’s lives” NO SH!T SHERLOCK! Sheesh.”

How was he going to heal our souls if he supposedly didn’t know he would affect people’s lives?

more b.s. on top of the previous mountain of b.s.

We had a guy that ended up in charge of our quality control
dept. Told everybody we was Microsoft Certified? I don’t know
who interviewed him but he couldn’t even turn on a computer...
He probably lasted longer than Obamy will.....

Barry is now somewhat cut off from Bill Ayers

Obama sure was adamant about keeping his Blackberry, wasn't he?

A brilliant and logic statement, however, not to be bet on by me because those that voted for him did not even read up, investigate, questioned anything this man has done to accent accomplishment for the overall good.

His real world job experience is below poor, but however, his political career is rich. 0 is a good speaker and a more than above average politician.

Agreed. Too few hold that view though.

“Yes. And have you noticed that the seas have begun to recede and the planet has begun to heal? No? Me, neither.”

well - I AM impressed with how he halted Global Warming so quickly.
In fact - he overdid it just a tad.
I wish he’d put the brakes on that one.

9 degrees as I drove my kids to school this morning.
And what’s sad, is I said to myself “this actually doesn’t feel very cold...”
