This report (link), hot off the press, signifies a victory for Norm Coleman in the election contest with Al Franken: the court hearing the contest has ruled that "all absentee ballots that complied with state law should be counted, along with those where errors occurred through no fault of the voter." Franken has been trying to prevent a number of ballots that complied with state law from being counted.

In the past he has voted strictly GOP on organizational matters, and a little better than McCain on issues. He doesn't do the kind of maverick, McCainlike reaching out to Dems either.

Are you signing on to the Al Franken Tax Recount drive? ;-)
Republican wins usually do help the economy!
Senate recount trial judges put 4,800 more ballots in playIn a ruling that keeps alive Republican Norm Coleman's chances of overturning Minnesota's U.S. Senate recount, a three-judge panel on Tuesday allowed him to bring evidence to trial that as many as 4,800 absentee ballots were wrongly rejected and should now be counted.
The decision expands the evidence that can be considered in the recount trial, giving Coleman the opportunity to put more ballots into play in his effort to erase a 225-vote lead for DFLer Al Franken. The Franken campaign had tried to limit Coleman to bringing evidence on only 650 absentee ballots that he cited specifically when he filed his lawsuit challenging the recount results.
In the ruling, the judges said they will focus on rejected absentee ballots cast by voters who complied with the requirements of Minnesota election law or failed to comply because of mistakes by local elections officials.

The Democratic party is making us the laughing stock of the world. What has happened to America?
Yes. Absentee ballots usually tend to trend Republican, since they are cast by typically cast by people who are wealthier and older.
Unless the poster of that obnoxious picture agrees to cease and desist in the further use of it, perhaps he should be threatened with the ultimate retaliatory weapon: the picture of Helen Thomas.
In all likelyhood, Normy would vote for it.
Let me guess. 4800 military absentee ballots?
My understanding is that each of the ballots will be considered if Coleman produces evidence that the ballot was improperly excluded from being counted. Once the evidence is presented then the court will decide whether the ballot should be counted or not.
Most of the ballots were excluded because election officials decided that they didn’t meet the requirements to be counted. Some may have been improperly excluded, but it is unclear how many.
I know Coleman has to do this, and I admire that he is willing to go through this process. However, this was a foregone conclusion once the recount began. Dems will do whatever it takes to make sure the Franken(stein) will win. It is tough to win an election when your opponent will cheat, lie and even steal ballots to get elected.
Good for him. Even if he doesn’t end up winning he’s making the Democrats fight to steal this election. Maybe they’ll think twice about it next time. As long as the court case is ongoing Al Franken is not in the Senate. It’s all good. Keep it up Coleman.
Sigh . . . true. Too true.
Fact is, besides the pro-life agenda (which is a RAT slam-dunk in this administration), Coleman is pretty much a RINO. Now, without the moderating influence of his pubbie mentor in the White House, Normy will probably fall back into his genetic disposition to lean left.
And here we are cheerleading for somebody none of us would trust further than we could throw him in real life. Once you’ve heard Normy’s ‘We can do it together and build a shining tomorrow’ speech, you’ve heard it all.
Where is Rod Grams when we need him?
Well .. remember now .. the guy from NH who just transferred to head the Commerce dept - that left his seat open and his replacement is a “centrist R” - and you know what that means .. she will vote with the dems most of the time.
There may not be 60 “D’s” in the house, but you can see how they will exploit this new person to vote with the POWER.
LOL
These are things you might expect to see on late-night tv horror shows.
