I'll bet that you're right and I'd also bet that the "even more damaging news" is connected to his wife who is a lobbyist for the airlines. Now that he's withdrawn, however, we may never know all of it.
I suspect that being a former leader cuts both ways. You make enemies as well as friends along the way. I don't think Tom Daschle was a particularly effective leader, either. But that's just my opinion.
When all is said and done, we’ll probably find out Gregg is the only one with clean hands.
Yes, isn't that interesting. I'd add that Ted Stevens also got a lot less than Obama got from Tony Rezko.
You mean Daschle went and paid those back taxes for nothing?
Boy, I bet he feels stupid. Everyone knows that taxes are just for the little people (and for Obama nominees that get caught).
Obama is going to have to make it up to Daschle by sending some pork to Daschle’s lobbying clients.
Tom Harkin's house in Cumming , Iowa.
Bet his one in Abaco, Bahamas is a lot nicer.
I was watching a discussion of Daschle this morning on "Morning Joe". Many of the Dems seemed strangely subdued. Like they didn't even want to give a counterargument in favor of Sen. Daschle. I guess they knew that this was coming down?
I admit that at the time I thought they were taking the silent approach because they were smug -- Like there was nothing anybody could do about another corrupt Obama appointment.
Ask the Indian tribes what they think of Dashool.
Tiny Tom is “deeply troubled”.
What's Dungheap Harkin's particular interest in this?

“President Obama “absolutely” stands by Tom Daschle’s nomination to be secretary of health and human services ...”
The wheels on the bus go `round-and-`round ...
I feel bad for Tommy. Now he will be forced to go back to his $5,000,000 per year job and his limos!
==> “...Congress, where he remains liked and respected by former colleagues.” <==
Liked - by the Senate sleazeballs.
Respected - by the Senate slimeballs.
That puts him in high regard by over 90% of the Senate!
If they don’t care about tax compliance, why should we?
