When Reagan left office, I knew things would never be the same. Conservatism was bound to drift. He left us with a strong military respected around the world, at least as much as we could be.
Well we’ve drifted alright. Twenty years on and our leaders openly affirm people who have committed criminal acts to be Department heads in a presidential administration.
It is absolutely imperative that we have people with good moral fiber in positions of authority, otherwise the president and his executives can break laws at will, with no chance of reprisal.
We are laying the foundation for a ruthless government, that could go postal any time they want.
That this could happen with Republican consent, bodes terribly for our future. We are on borrowed time.
And the bill for that is going to come due very, very soon. It ain't gonna be pretty.
