Congress Must Think We're Stupid
Fox News ^ | 02/03/2009 | Mike Huckabee

I learned a few tricks and tactics while I was a lieutenant governor and governor for over 13 1/2 years. And one thing is that when someone is in a hurry to pass legislation, you'd better slow it down because the reason to hurry a law is rarely urgency to help the citizens, but urgency to get it passed before people find out what the heck it really is.

A lot of legislation is like garbage and it's garbage the first day in the can, but if it sits there long enough, it really starts smelling.

Congress knows that the so-called stimulus bill is garbage, but hope it gets voted on before it sits there long enough to start smelling.

I don’t think this porker is covered by any “three day cooling off period” law. Once this porker is passed and signed by Abe the “messiah,” we’re stuck with it. There won’t be no taking this “lemon” back once we take possession of it.

Well, I don't know who sent 'em there, but whoever it was, was certainly stupid.

Maybe they're on to something...

You beat me to it. I was going to say that their opinions of us had nothing to do with it. They don’t give a damn what we think.

Should have made tar and feathering nefarious politicians a Constitutional right.... right up there with right to bear arms.

Too bad they outlawed tar and feathers.

Who cares what "they" outlawed? "They" obviously don't care about the Constitution, why should "we" care about "their" laws anymore?

1) Congress does not, and can not - think.
2) A for me, I KNOW that congress is stupid.

I keep thinking of TR Roosevelt’s comment that when the senate has a roll call, members have trouble remembering whether to answer “present” or “not guilty”.

With the Obamaloon brigade, this comment has more relevance than 100 years ago.

>Too bad they outlawed tar and feathers.

Didn’t they outlaw not paying taxes?

Hmmm...

Maybe we could use their own defenses against them: “It was an honest mistake that he fell into the barrel of hot tar and then was dumped into a pile of feathers.”

What do you think?

"No, they KNOW we’re stupid... just look who is living at 1600...."

Stupid people didn't put zero there.

I was slammed in 2001 for calling the attack on us ala WTC brilliant. From the vantage point of tactical maneuvers, it was. But because we Americans have an aversion to attributing intelligence to Satan, we refuse to see.

There are none so blind as those that won't see. (NIkT .. New International knarf Translation)
