TGIFebruary after coldest 2-month span in decades (Help us Al Gore!)

A check of final heating degree day statistics for January shows the month was indeed the coldest month in 15 years -- since January 1994.

Factor in a colder than normal December, and clearly we’re due for a break: The past two months have marked the coldest stretch of December-January weather, based on heating degree days, since the winter of 1985-’86.

That’s sure to be felt in heating costs when customers open up their next utility bill.

Even with a balmy end to the month Saturday -- when the temperature in Milwaukee climbed above freezing for the first time in more than three weeks, January was 20% colder than the January average over the past 20 years.

We Energies analyzes National Weather Service data for Milwaukee dating back to the 1890s, and the December-January stretch is tied as the 13th coldest on record.

Plummeting natural gas prices helped offset the brutal weather, at least through December. At that point, We Energies customers were still on track to pay about the same or as little less than last year during the November-April winter heating season.

But with the weather as cold as it was in January, it may be tough to keep heating costs down. We Energies set a record for natural gas use in a 24-hour period in on Jan. 15-16.

We Energies plans to update its outlook for the entire heating season later this month, after detailed statistics for customer energy use for January are available, said utility spokesman Brian Manthey.

“Our estimate for consumption of natural gas is higher than we thought, but the price of gas has been lower than we thought it would be,” Manthey said.

Hello Al Gore, please save us here in the frozen northlands. We beg you to come to one of our fine universities, perhaps in the People's Republic of Madistan (UW MADISON), in order to spew some of your hot air about AGW. If you and enough of your Branch Algorian cult come to Wisconsi, maybe we can unfreeze some of our lakes and melt some of the huge snowbanks covering our lawns and driveways.

Hell could freeze over and it would not make a diff. Global warming is not about the weather or climate. It is part of our absorbtion in to the New World Order. One World Government Kiddo. Along with NAFTA Law of the Sea and all the other globaloney. I hear the giant sucking sound and it SUCKS!!!

The hot air that the Albore emits when he opens his mouth is almost enough to cause global warming by itself!

We have another heavy freeze hitting Florida in mid-week. Can hardly wait for “global warming” to kick in!

Possibly bad news for those of you trapped in the frozen North of the Mason-Dixon line, give or take. Four or five northern hemisphere volcanoes appear to be contemplating eruption, which could make a cold situation colder.

Outside of that, it seems that La Nina is returning off the West coast of South America, which made the start of last years’ January on colder and wetter than normal.

Perhaps the solution can be found in tossing Al Gore and James E. Hansen in an active volcano...

I believe we are in for a doozy of volcanic as well as earthquake activity. The sun is still in hibernation and some feel low sun actiivty is related to increased activity of the earth’s crust.

I believe that you are right. All of the global warming garbage is about one world government. Environmental issues are the tools that the U.N. employes to achieve that goal.

If you haven’t already, Google Agenda 21. That takes you to the “Earth Summit” in Rio de Janiero in ‘92 where “Sustainable Development” was to be used as a term to cover gradual elimination of privately owned land. It is a Marxist concept that has made unbelievable progress across the globe.

I doubt that we can stop it. I have succeeded in getting Agenda 21 discussed here in Western Montana, which has upset the “environmentalists” who have destroyed the timber industry and are destroying elk and deer populations throuigh increasing the numbers of grizzlies and wolves in our mountains. They did not ever want this to be discussed, except among themselves I imagine.

I do think that the more people who know about Agenda 21, the harder it will be for the traitors to advance their agenda across the nation. Benign terms like smart growth and conservation easements are so easy to accept. That is why they are used. have you heard the terms?
