I read the article and he was doing the dope in that everso liberal drug law state of South Carolina at the University of So Carolina - he was hanging with some girl he dates. Apparently, according to the article, he is quite the celeb anywhere he goes and has been free wheeling it for quite some time since the Olympics. With all the cell phone pix capabilities these days, if you are a “celeb” based on your “clean-cut, jock” image, you DON’T do dope where you can be photoed - yes, very stupid. Also, I think, isn’t he a fatherless Phelp? No male influence other than coaches in his life? It may mean something.

He ain't the onl one.

The half-brother of President Barack Obama was arrested for alleged possession of marijuana on Saturday near his home in a Nairobi shantytown, police said.

Here’s some links for you.
All he had to say was something like:
“I have never used any illegal substances”, he never did.
Interpret that how you will.
He also had a DUI, and a drinking problem.

Do you disagree with any of the claims made in these links ?

I’m assuming you don’t disagree about Clinton/Obama.

Proof is a very high standard to ask for.

Yep, such a shame his pot usage cost him all of those victories in Beijing.

Going forward Michael Phelps is going to need maximize all of his prodigious physical gifts along with even harder training. He isn't getting any younger so the margin of winning in the next Olympics will be much smaller. It's not Beijing that's relevant here. It's his future performance. Consider also that if he gets handed a 2-year ban, he won't be competing in very many sanctioned events before the next Olympiad. That's gotta hurt his chances to check his training results.

I don’t understand all the excuses for him. He’s 23 not 15, he’s supposed to be training for the next Olympics, it’s illegal, it’s against everything he’s trained for his whole life.

The ankle biting libertarians are for pot smoking and porn and whatever that makes you feel good, no laws no regulation, no age limits.

I read this morning that if you use drugs, you are banned from Olympic competition for four years.

“Not a big deal” you say?

Endorsements? Future competition?

That is a huge deal.

So he smoked pot. No different than having a scotch. Except the nanny state has deemed one naughty and the other “acceptable.” The nanny state can bite it.

I thought the only reason people smoked pot was to cope with chemotherapy. Wow, I never knew phelps had cencer.

I would like to ask all the people defending pot use and kids “cutting loose”

Would you jeopardize 100 million big ones for a bong hit?

If you say yes, you are on my official FReerper fool list.

(ie not a big deal)

It's not a big deal. The big deal is folks thinking it's any of their damn business and making laws against what folks do privately.

You actually don’t need pot for chemo. THe new anti nausea drugs are way better than they used to be and who wants to inhale a substance into his lungs when he already has cancer.

Clinton and 0bama have acknowledged that they partook.

Bush never has, and it’s pretty low to make a statement as fact, then say proof is too high a standard.

Shame on you.
