I have lived in this area for over 50 years and this is the worst disaster I have seen.

It was surreal to listen the first night of the limbs crashing down and what we thought was lightening but instead was transformers blowing up.

There are 150 people where I work and about 80% of them still are without electricity. Yesterday they were finally able to open up most of the city streets, stacking piles of limbs and trees on the side of the roads.

There are people waiting in lines just for the next tanker to arrive with fuel.

Utilities companies have not only been hampered with the debris getting to the lines but also communication. One of the companies finally went to satellite phones after trying to use cell phones from three different providers and still losing service.

Here we are five days afterwards and about 2/3 of my area is still without electricity and it’s the third largest city in Kentucky.

The other day people were talking about how things were going to change when Zero sent in FEMA, which hasn’t shown up yet.

Well I can see today is going to be another fun day when I get to work and ask how all the Zero voters are going to enjoy the Superbowl today. Oops, they probably won’t be able to see it as they don’t have any electricity.

Even though I can’t feel sorry for the people that voted for Zero, I have taken in several animals to care for as they can’t be blamed for the stupidity of their owners.

FEMA has to be requested by the governor to come in to work in the state.

Isn't Governor Beshear a Democrat?
