Bear in mind that the RATs have taken many, many projects that would otherwise receive funding under traditional budget processes and wrapped them into this monstrosity (or so I've heard). After all, part of the scheme to get the 40 years of liberal goodies is to put in essentials, making a no vote a bad risk.

Under those circumstances, it makes sense for ANY governor to seek some clarity for the important stuff. Judge not on the dialog but on what is actually being sought. Trying to protect a pipeline project that is vital not only to Alaska's economy but also the nation is a far cry from Ahnold looking for money to prop up Kalifornia's drunken-sailor spending binge.

Now, if Sarah uses language like Alaska's "fair share", shame on her. But I don't expect that to be the case.

Post 9 - Good for you! You submitted a post of a media-type’s slant on what Gov Palin actually said. I reckon searching for those comments she herself made on the stimulus bill proved too taxing for you. By the way, she already is being critiqued in Alaska for refusing to accept some fed largesse. But don’t let the truth get in your way from maligning this grand lady.

That is such BS - please read real sources for your information. All state funding projects are being lumped into this stimulus - it was her and only 2 other governors that asked for nothing else from the stimulus besides the regular infrastructure funding that is allotted every year. You need to stop trying to throw this woman under the bus and read up first and foremost rather than some source from AP. She also gave a wonderful state of the state address which goes into further detail on this - she is cutting spending in her state by 7% this year and spoke about how fortunate they are because they practiced saving in her state. She also wrote a letter to Alaska and the President saying she was not ok w/ this stimulus because she fears for the economic future of the country and the burden it puts on our children and grandchildren in regards to the debt that continues to build up. Please do your homework and make sure it’s thorough.
