"Not a single Republican voted with the majority last week when the House approved Obama's $819 billion combination of tax cuts and new spending. The president's goal is to create or preserve 3 million to 4 million jobs."
President's goal? Pork, payback, and power. Has nothing to do with jobs created by a strong economy. Only a GOVERNMENT economy.

I'm not buying this. At least in the way that the Ass. Press has put it here. More Commie arrows at Gov. Palin.
Inspiring rhetoric only goes so far. Barry is about to crash and burn. It’s gonna be a long four years.
This is divide-and-conquer propaganda.
Money = Power, and politicians of all stripes love power.
“GOP governors press Congress to pass stimulus bill”
GOP Senators had best stand with their colleagues in the House and vote against this atrocity, even using the filibuster if possible.
RINO Charlie Crist. The fruity man who gave us Juan McCain.
Mitt could have taken the FL primary and the nomination but the “Friend of Dorothy” interceded.
Why not? It’s free money to them. Unfortunately no one will bailout the federal taxpayer from all the debt.
Instead of having to bailout the states, how about just removed all unfunded federal mandates from the states, and let them figure out how to better provide services to their people, with the funds they have year in and year out.
Our federal government is ok with driving States into debt with their laws. They do it to the people also. While i don’t agree with the stimulus, the governors of both parties are dying for money.
There is some irony here. The government has been sticking it to business for decades with their regulations, and now it is coming around to bite the local governments.
Florida Gov. Charlie Crist worked the phones last week with members of his state's congressional delegation, including House Republicans. Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas, the Republican vice chairman of the National Governors Association, planned to be in Washington on Monday to urge the Senate to approve the plan.
Most Republicans? I only see 2 in that statement and they're RINOs.
To be fair, the governors have a divided duty, to their country and to the state that they govern.
The Porculus Bill is a travesty, that will enrich Obama’s pals and move the country left without doing one damned thing to fix the economy.
So, best if it is shot down. But the governors don’t get to vote on it; the senators do. If this lousy bill gets past, what governor in his right mind would want to see the taxpayers in his state pay the tab, through taxes or hyperinflation, yet refuse to take a share of the proceeds?
Sarah Palin needs to be there, consulting with her fellow governors. That doesn’t mean that she approves the bailout plan, only that it’s not her job to screw Alaska. Of course the MSM misrepresents the whole business.
The governors want bailed out of the messes they and their legislators made of their own states. Nothing more, nothing less.
Sarah Palin? Please say it isn’t so! You don’t want the strings and bad press that come with that money.
Easily we're looking at 20-25% reduction in revenue in 2009 compared to 2007...with probably another 10-20% in 2010.
The modern welfare state has never before been presented with such a problem..."needs" increasing while revenue decreases. And, the states cannot print money. They have to borrow from the private sector, tax the private sector or get free Federal money.
NOBODY is loaning to the states as they watch their income fall and their obligations and debts increase. Who wants to buy California State Bonds at ANY interest rate?
Which brings me to my point: There are only two potential outcomes, over the next 2-7 years, for this financial conflagration.
Either full "socialization" of the means of production and finance, inclusive of the repudiation of all debt, public and private.
Or, the government honey train gets shut down and millons lose their welfare benefits.
In other words, the great financial conflagration of 2008-2009 will result in the great social conflagration of 2010 and beyond. The pie is much smaller and it's not going to get much bigger any time soon. Those who have will do what they can to preserve it. Those who have-not will do what they can to steal it from those who have it.
Enormous turmoil awaits us. This same scenario will be played out within every nation and between nations.
Babylon is burning and the merchants watch and weep.
The way the ASS. PRESS twists the truth, I doubt the true conservative governors are pushing for such nonsense.
I don't believe this. AK is running a surplus.
Nasty lil’ ho’s who refuse to act responsible.
