Anti-Christian Hate Crime By “College Democrats” At GWU: Political Group Steals Crucifixes
Pat Dollard ^ | Jan 30, 2009 | Pat Dollard

“Apparently to the College Democrats, making fun of Christianity, and specifically a memorial to aborted unborn children is humor. To me, it is flagrant, disrespectful and downright disgusting. The fact that these crosses remained displayed in the College Democrats’ office for over 24 hours just adds to the sheer lack of respect they have for Christians on campus.”

- College Republican source, identity withheld for his protection pending investigation

This is a Pat Dollard.com exclusive.

Back in October, The Washington Times reported on allegations of an ominous and potentially dangerous atmosphere of hostility and intolerance for campus Conservatives, free speech, and apparently now, Christianity, by the George Washington University chapter of the national College Democrats organization. Here’s an excerpt from the article:

“College conservatives say the excitement of a historic presidential election which could send the first black American to the White House has become clouded by an atmosphere of intimidation and hostility on campus.

“People on campus who say they’re the most tolerant, they simply do not walk the walk,” said Brand Kroeger, chairman of the George Washington University College Republicans and head of the D.C. Federation of College Republicans.

Mr. Kroeger said he has been flooded with calls from students who feel they cannot express their views in favor of Republicans for fear of being shouted down….

GW College Democrats President Cory Struble was accused of sanctioning harassment of Republican and conservative students with comments he made at the beginning of the semester WRGW Radio.

According to an audio file provided by Mr. Struble, he said, “We seek to marginalize them as much as possible. You remember YAF last year put an ad in the paper saying how marginalized they felt [at GW]. Well, this year we want to make sure that GW is an even more uncomfortable environment for Republicans and conservatives…”

Today’s story is breaking and developing. Here are the initial details as revealed to me by two confidential sources within the College Republicans. I have no official statement or comment yet from the organization.

The College Republicans were in possession of a number of crucifixes used in a University-sanctioned Right To Life display. When the display was taken down, they were stored in the College Repulicans’ side of their shared but divided office space with the College Democrats. When the last College Republican members left the offices this last Friday, January 23, the crucifixes were safely stored on their side of the suite.

This Monday afternoon, January 27, when the first College Republicans to re-enter the offices did so, they discovered some of the horrifically desecrated crucifixes, stolen from the private property confines of their storage containers, and proudly displayed on the College Democrats’ bulletin board, and other areas, including a bowl, laid out as if they were candy for any member of the public who visited the office to take home and enjoy. One crucifix featured the College Democrats’ version of Christ:

This is a very graphic and gross story of how College Democrats are acting now that Present Obama is in office.

They themselves before the election bragged about doing things of this nature.

I have intentionally left some things out of this main portion of the post because of the dispicable nature of these actions.

I will post more in my first comment to this post.

Check out the Link to see the full article and the pictures.

Please do not post the pictures to this thread.

Thanks

Here is the full title of this article:
Here is the last paragraph of the main body of this article. Dollard can't be serious.
I have the fullest confidence that the university administration, university police and any law enforcement agencies with jurisdiction, who clearly must become involved, will guarantee the fair and equal application of all relevant laws of theft, vandalism and hate crime, treating the assault on these religious objects precisely as they would if they were Korans, Menorahs, etc.
This is the mood of the democrats now that the object of their worship (Godlessness) is "leading" this country.

Why would they do that? To see the symbol of my Lord in such a way grieves my heart. I want to be angry with them, but I’m more sad than angry. They are lost souls, and they need my prayers, not my anger. What are we becoming in this nation?

People on campus who say they’re the most tolerant, they simply do not walk the walk,

That is the TRUEST thing of all about liberal democrats. Their idea of tolerance is accepting you if you believe exactly as they do. And it is harder to be a Christian in this country than Buddhist or Muslim.

Oh my....

Stunning isn't it?

I did look at those pictures. They are crosses but not crucifixes. Unless they ripped off the body of Christ from the cross.

Doesn't make these revolting acts any less offensive.

These people should be punished severely.

This is exactly how Nazism came to be. Shut down any opposition.

I continue to pray for this country like never before, and work to educate those that are misguided.

We can expect more of the same.

They have carte blanche now that Present Obama is in office.

I found this linked to Ann Coulter's Website.

... it is harder to be a Christian in this country than Buddhist or Muslim. Yes, secularism has made it so, because in a once-Christian society like this one "secularism" really boils down to "Give me anything but Christianity."

JESUS did throw the merchants out of the temple. Christians sometimes must fight for right. This is one of those times. Nothing will be done however and this hate crime against us will go unanswered and unprosecuted. Compare that with a false story about the satanic koran being flushed!

“we want to make sure that GW is an even more uncomfortable environment for Republicans and conservatives”

This statement by the head of GW would be a hate crime if he said this about Muslims or Jews or anyone else. Devout Christians are victims of hate crimes every day in America today. Look at the California response to the defeat of proposition 8.
If you substitute America for GW in the above quote, you have the agenda the Democrats and the MSM in America today.

Dollard can't be serious.

Sure he is. This is the way our side handles these situations -- politely stating what the obvious actions would be IF this was a just society. If we played by their rules there would be outrage flowing into the streets until "justice" was served.

So this is what Democrats stand for? They are firmly behind the mocking of Christians?

I’m more sad than angry. They are lost souls, and they need my prayers, not my anger.

You can still pray for them while participating in a bit of righteous indignation. You may recall Jesus overturned the tables of the money changers. It is way past time to get angry.

What are we becoming in this nation?

A lot of sad people praying quietly in their homes while allowing the godless to run roughshod over us while seizing control of our actions, speech and thoughts.

Christians have been taught to turn the other cheek - a great moral element that has made the US what it is today...

Do something like this pertaining to Islam - and they react with violence...stuff like this just shows how weak our society has become and the vulnerabilities that are now exposed for others to just walk through the crack and exploit them...

College campuses and their “brick & mortar socialist professors” or prisons - churn out the same thing...

Make a real difference. Call the people who have real control of this:
The comments after Dollard’s article are great.

Here’s the contacts for some of the Administration, from one of the GWU students.

Tim Miller, Director of Student Activities
(202) 994-6556
millertm@gwu.edu

Bob Chernak, Senior VP of Student Academic Support Services
(202) 994-7210
rac@gwu.edu

And to make it easier, here’s my message to them(feel free to copy and paste):

I have read about how the GWU chapter of the College Democrats has defaced the private property of the College Republicans—in this case, crosses that were used in a protest against abortion.

Apparently this chapter’s members have no respect for private property, religious symbols, or for Jesus Christ, as shown by what was drawn on various crosses.

Since my taxes help fund your university through various grants and aid to students, I want you to know that I am one very irate taxpayer.

I consider this action by the College Democrats to be no less than a hate crime, and Federal law apparently is in agreement with that assessment.

You and the administration better take strong action against those who did this. College is supposed to be a place for higher learning, not for the suppression of thought by amateur fascists.

I’ll be watching the news for how GWU handles this situation. If you avoid the hard choices in doing what is right, I will petition Congress for removal of funds to your university, as it has become a hotbed of political oppression and intolerance.

Remember who you are named after. As a tolerant Christian and founder of the country, he would not countenance this behavior for one second.

It was not stated by the head of GW.

It was GW College Democrats President Cory Struble.

Still, this "would be a hate crime if he said this about Muslims or Jews or anyone else" is quite true. Maybe you could just put Muslims and minorities, not Jews though. They are almost as "fair game" as Christians.

And, you will know them by their actions.

I fear we are heading toward a violent ‘correction’ in the US. There is much more talk of secession and insurrection than I can remember in my lifetime. There is a significant component of the populace that see themselves fully estranged from the promise that should be America, as the LibTards and DhimmiRats advance their socialist agenda.
We need a renewal of the founding principles: freedom, self-reliance, personal responsibility. Getting there, however, will likely be truly painful, IMO.
