Getting Theirs Cuts Both Ways on Wall Street (Wall St. Cry babies)
NY Times ^

Posted on 01/30/2009 10:08:09 PM PST by Tempest

After a year of yawning losses at the company, employees lamented that times were getting lean. The giant bank, the recipient of two multibillion-dollar rescues from Washington, had paid out only about $4 billion in bonuses.

Only?

If you’ve never worked on Wall Street, it is hard to wrap your head around the idea that a company that lost nearly $19 billion in a single year, as Citigroup did in 2008, could still pay its employees billions in bonuses. It is probably even harder to believe that some of those employees grumble about it.

I often times see posters here justify the transport of American jobs to foreign countries stating that corporations are well within their right to do that because American workers aren't hard working enough and that they need to be further indentured to their employers in order to earn the depressed salaries that their H1-B visa brethern slave away to make.

Well I feel the same way about the fat greedy slobs on Wall street and more so. But that's because I'm a dirty social conservative, communist, blah, blah, class warfare, neocon. . . (insert dirty word here) bad paerson.

That's it, you can resume your crushing of the unions and foreclosing on illegal immigrants. Because they're all illegals you know.

Or you can do somethig reall useful and call up your congressman to tell them to leave the poor victimized Wall Street bankers alone... and after your done I'd tell you to go sell your sould to the devil, but you can't I realize that ole smokey already purchased that years ago..

XOXO Family Values.

I’m trying to figure out what you are saying here. It isn’t very coherent.

It’s an amalgamation of the incoherent crap that the bailout sycophants spew around here. It doesn’t make sense to me either, but they sure do seem to think that the bankers are entitled to something.

Don’t bail out the banks. Don’t bail out anybody.

Oh stop it with that self accountability nonsense. Banks are better than people. Families are irresponsible and need to be foreclosed on. But bankers are holy men, sent from their corporate jets to enlighten us.

There is a great sense of entitlement and a welfare mentality in this country. The amount of the dollars is just greater on wall street than on on main street

This is killing me. For the first time I agree with something Obama said. The Bonus Culture of Wall WILL HAVE TO CHANGE AND CHANGE BIG TIME. These guys on the street are the ultimate whores or should I say pigs. Some of these guys need to be drawn and quartered.

I just got my yearly review from my employer. It was the best review I've ever received. But I will get zero increase because we are on an austerity plan like so many other companies. No one got an increase despite their performance. Most of us feel lucky to still have jobs.

And we have not received a dime of federal money.

I guess the word I'm looking for is chutzpah. The word must have been invented to describe these Wall Street Geniuses. These folks must have the absolute worst public relations staff in the history of the world.
