This is a disgrace on the part of St. Mary's and the Catholic church...first for allowing Ayers to appear there and second for not permitting the questions from Ayers' detractors and shutting down the mikes early.

And hearing this after listening to the beginning of a sermon about "heroes" Philip and Daniel Berrigan and the evils of the Vietnam war at mass this evening just boils me. If they want to talk about this stuff, let them find more appropriate venues. While they are on church property or at church and Catholic school events, they should shut up or be shut up. We must find a way to do it effectively.

"To me his rhetoric was a well veiled justification for his activities of domestic terrorism twisted into personal values and the need to act."

That wouldn't surprise me. Ayers and people like him are excellent rationalizers. It allows them to promote ideas which will be extremely harmful to many people, in order to create a world they see as better for everyone. Since Ayers and his buddies have already harmed so many, all the more crucial to believe their actions were then, justified.

Thank you for the summary. It would have been interesting to have been there.
