There are virtually no reliable facts coming out about this. It is apparently the grandfather, not the father, who is planning to work as a contractor in Iraq (per all reports except a summary line in the heading of one Fox article, the text of which was unclear as to whose husband was reportedly planning to work in Iraq). Only a few sources are repeating the claim that he is a native of Iraq. At least one source quotes him talking to a reporter in fluent-sounding English (at least as it comes across in print) and identifying himself as “Ed” — not exactly a typical Iraqi name.
We really don’t know much of anything about this woman or her family situation. Even reports that she is single seem to be based only on a random neighbor or two saying they’ve never seen her with anyone who looked like a husband or boyfriend. Maybe her husband/boyfriend/whatever is working in Iraq, either with our armed services or as a contractor. That’s as likely an explanation for the lack of a visible husband/father, as “she’s single”. It’s a little hard to picture a single woman undertaking any kind of fertility treatments to add to an existing brood of 6.
There’s got to be a LOT more to this story than we’re hearing.
Good point.
Good point!
That would be "Ed Suleman"...a fine old Irish name indeed.
Fixed it for ya!

Right — um, maybe it’s like in that movie, Chinatown — the confused issue over Faye Dunaway and her family members, i.e., “my sister And my daughter” or some such nonsense.
