We never will know what would have happened if someone else had been our nominee, unfortunately. I have to guess that almost any of the other candidates would have done better than McCain after September's disaster, however. What a hideous mistake that was.
I pray that we will somehow do better next time, but too many of us seem to be willing to win at any price. That doesn't bode well for 2012.
