Michael Steele is a dvout Mass-going Catholic, a former seminarian, and a Knight of Columbus. Are any of these - “Kennedy, Kerry, Harkin, and Pelosi” - that? Is the Pope like them because he’s Catholic too. I don’t think so.

“Oh, please. That isn’t necessary. What difference does it make what religion he is.”

Has a Catholic ever been RNC Chairman? That is a huge voting group and it DOES make a difference.

It makes no difference what religion he is. If the fact that Obammy was as proabortion as he could get didn’t affect Catholic vote, why would the fact that the RNC elected a Catholic affect the Catholic vote? I hope it does but I wouldn’t bet on it.

I don't know how many Catholics have been RNC Chairman, but Congressman William E. Miller of Buffalo New York was Chairman during the early 1960's, and then became Barry Goldwater's candidate for Vice President.
