I am for this. You take bailout money, no more million dollar payouts.
You have a choice......but not on my dime.

The Democrats have waited for a generation to control how much Americans pay. This is quite an achievement for the left.

Better yet would be to just not do the bailouts in the first place.

Need to find out what bonuses, when paid and when gov money went in.
The government however issued far more then 18 B in bonuses to government employees - anyone upset about that?

The Nationalization continues.
You’d be hard pressed to find anyone who deserves a bonus or paycheck less than a US Senator.

I hope they don’t put a cap on my salary. Government needs
to stay out of the private sector. These companies should have failed! Now look what they started! UGH!!!

Well I say that US Senators should not make more than I do. And while we're at it, movie stars should not make more than public school teachers. And athletes should not make more than doctors. And, and, and...
Get the point, numbnut?

I have a question for Sen. Claire McCaskill, (D)-Missouri: Just how many $_,_00,000 have you taken as payments from lobbyists?

Yup, right after there's a pay cap on DC.
Like that's really gonna happen.
They (DC) sure like telling other people how much they can make but they don't seem so keen when it comes to their own pay.
I'd even go so far as to suggest that they shouldn't get paid anything until unemployment is below a certain point and unless there's a balanced budget.
I'm not holding my breath.

That works great ... until the government FORCE companies to take bailouts, even small ones.
To: Red in Blue PA
A pay cap would keep these sleazy CEOs from taking our money, and that makes it worthwhile. There are other ways to survive, if they have a reason to find them, and self-interest is the best possible reason.
I don't mind if a good manager makes $50M or even $500M a year in a bonus. I do mind if a company is so poorly managed that socialists like Obama/Pelosi feel a need to divert $1,550,000,000,000 in taxpayer dollars to the company - and the executives get a bonus for a level of mismanagement that results in that kind of claimed "need". If their performance really justifies that kind of a bonus, then they must not need my tax dollars [actually, whether or not their performance justifies the huge bonus, they have no right to my tax dollars, but we are losing that battle unless the Senate RINOs hold firm].

Yes, Senator, please do tell me how much I am allowed to make. Why not just make the minimum wage the only wage that you can earn (except of course if you work for the government)?

"no employee would be allowed to make more than the president of the United States" My God. It's a true command and control economy with the 'dear leader' at the top. You shouldn't be for this in any respect. The bailouts were a horrible idea, and having the federal government go futher by determining the salary of publicly traded companies and link it to the salary of the president is absolutley chilling to me.

You can't use taxpayer money to pay out 18 billion dollars in bonuses."Ahhh Claire, baby.....you are the one that GAVE them the taxpayers money to start with!
Reform your behavior!
