We don’t need to play the affirmative action game. Michael Steele stand on his own competence.
As for making him an Uncle Tom it will happen on Day 1. It happens to every single senior person in office under the Republican banner.
And the media will have drinks to toast to it.
“We dont need to play the affirmative action game. Michael Steele stand on his own competence.”
I agree. Steele is the best wrt articulation of those running,
although the others like Saul Anuzi are not bad.
The main issue is that he’s not as conservative as others. OTOH, he is a conservative overall, and RNC Chair is mostly operational/strategy, fundraising, and communications.
I hope whoever wins works on revamping the RNC and making it a more open party, more tuned to the grassroots, and more effective at leveraging new technologies, such as web 2.0 platforms, etc.
Exactly, ask Clarence Thomas how much being black helped him when it came to being attacked by the left.
The reality though is that the RNC Chair, whoever he is, is pretty low on the totem pole when it come to being the subject of attacks, so I don’t know how much it matters.
It looks like it’d down to Steele and Dawson.
Kind of ironic seeing as Michael Steele is a big supporter of affirmative action. Not a very "conservative" position.
I agree with you on Steele's competence. I do not agree with any of the "We don't need to..." arguments, because that just means we're not playing the same game as the Democrats.
Any time someone tells me that "we don't need to do...," all I hear is that we're bringing a knife to a gunfight. Like it or not, the Democrats and the MSM make the rules of engagement, and we often choose not to play as rough as they do.
