...so this whole article is an attempt to do what, exactly?

It looks like a very poorly disguised attempt to pull the wool over our eyes.

If Rush and his fans are so marginalized and unimportant, why are Obama and his moonbats trying to silence Rush?

Wrong; If we had run an “Arch Conservative” he would be in the White House now.

“I'm confused”...”200000 couldn't get out of New Orleans..”

That is a complex question. I asked a Katrina evacuee who now lives here and I attend church with. I questioned him a while back on why people didn't get out. He gave several reasons, and here they are in no particular order.
1-New Orleans is a very corrupt city, you have a lot of people in positions they don't belong in. There either wasn't a good evacuation plan in place or it wasn't followed.
2-The Governor and Mayor were both incompetent. (Both democrats BTW. He also said he thinks it would have been a lot different if Bobby Jindal was Gov. when Katrina hit.) 3-Some people stayed to protect their property.(Refer to # 1) 4-You have a large population that is poor and/or on assistance. They didn't have the means or they didn't have the mindset to get themselves and their families out. He loaded his wife and children up in their car and sent them north to stay with family, while he stayed. Once the levees broke, it was to late to try and move all the people. He was at Morial Center and said it was literally Hell on Earth. And, for the record, he is Black and was living in the lower 9th ward.He said if people learn anything from Katrina, it should be you have to be responsible for yourself. He said the only fault he had with Bush was not stepping in sooner when it was obvious to anyone there that the situation was in complete chaos. That's the story I got from an evacuee, it makes a lot of sense to me.

Rush has to make an audio montage of the ad hominem attacks on him to play up the Talking Points. “Fat DJ addict,” “pompous blowhard...”

Note that they never call Chrissy a “fat weenie [insert verb of choice here]er.”

Dude is just jealous of the Maharushie!! LOL!!! :-)

Gosh, I know Rush is having a field day with this. I actually felt PRIDE today when I saw news snippets today of John Boehner (sp?) and Mitch McConnel (sp?) talking about how it feels like the GOP is undergoing a ‘rebirth’ of sorts—I’m loving the phoenix effect that Rush is ‘midwiving’, aren’t you? :-) Especially loving watching the rats running around in circles trying to circumvent the Rush effect and having absolutely NO success doing so!! It’s like that old kids’ taunt when they badmouth Rush:

He’s rubber and you’re glue! Whatever you say bounces off him and sticks to you!!!

Bwahahahahaha!! Go, Rush!!! :-)

Sorry I replied before I finished. To answer your question, which you probably already know the answer to, let me answer with a question. Do you really think the MSM media is going to blame anybody when you have Bush as the whipping boy?

Oh come on David, it’s hilarious that a kid from Missouri who wanted to be on the radio is working the Democrats into a dither.

I see Frum’s transition to the dark side is now complete.

If the GOP is supposed to reclaim the mantle of a small-government party, which he claims is necessary in this very article, how does supporting a massive deficit spending bill further that goal? And if the elected Republican leaders in Washington fail to show leadership (by say, going along with whatever the ‘rats want) of course the likes of Rush, Coulter, Hannity are going to become the face of the party, or at least the face of conservatism - since there won’t be anyone else to take that role.

ROFL....

For the Republicans to secure the conservative base they need to move more moderate. Amazing how your enemies want to help you with their sound advice!

I love Rush... I listened to him for the past 17 years... I listened to him before I could understand him...

The reference to De Gualle is that we have a bunch of Fake Conservative Representation reminiscent of NAZI controlled France. These chicken shits in DC are afraid of the liberal thugs and will not do the right thing unless our true leader in exile De Gaulle Rushdie, tells them that they are a bunch of yellow bellied toads.

What a bunch of BS. The only voice we have is conservative talk radio. We hold our breath hoping the Republilcans say NO to the Stimulus hand out package. Thank God that all of them voted no.

Any article or person that says this kind of thing in this article is only wanting the Republican party to move even further left then it already has done.

He is our leader in exile since we have a bunch of Vichy Republicans in congress.
Rush Limbaugh, our conservative poliitical leader, ruling outside of idiot contolled DC.
He is our poltical equivallent to De Gaulle in England.

What's really poignant is that Rush was "elected" fair and square via a free marketplace of radio, advertisers, ratings, listeners. The premise that he genuinely represents and voices better than any current politician the principles of millions of conservatives, is validated by his commercial success. Those people are real. I bet all you have to do is ask his advertisers.

David Frum, on the other hand, or Kathleen Parker or Peggy Noonan -- millions of conservatives remain indifferent to them, and that's why they don't sell.

“...

Me too!

I understand what you mean now by the De Gaulle comment - the heroic Generale De Gaulle during World War II, when France was occupied by German forces, was a much different man than Presidente De Gaulle after the war. After the war he was desparate to gather back to France’s dominion colonies that sought independence. Very sad.
