No question that race was a consideration for admission to the law school at the time, and that being black couldn't have hurt him in the admissions process. However, once admitted, I tend to doubt that he had any special version of law school. Again, no transcript is available to help answer that question.
The claim of magna cum laude is from Harvard not Columbia. From what I read at wiki/ColumbiaUniversity Jr as a transfer student would not have been eligible for honors. I will include the Columbia wiki link which may provide a laugh or two.

And here is an article from “The Crimson” about race and tensions at Harvard Law School:

BTTT!
Thanks LucyT.
Here is a partial list (date(s) of stories in parentheses): Worcester Telegram & Gazette (Feb. 6); USA Today (Feb. 6); Palm Beach Post (Feb. 6); Seattle Post-Intelligencer (Feb. 6); San Jose Mercury News (Feb.6); Roanoke Times (Feb. 6); Miami Herald (Feb. 6 and Apr. 18); Boston Globe (Feb. 6 and Feb. 15); Buffalo News (Feb. 7); St. Paul Pioneer Press (Feb. 11); Philadelphia Inquirer (Feb. 27); San Francisco Chronicle (Apr. 1); Washington Times (Apr. 16); Charlotte Observer (Apr. 16); Akron Beacon Journal (Apr. 19).
Interestingly, some of these stories referred to O as a "Hawaii native." Of course, that was straight from O's mouth and never fact checked, as none of these "journalists" would think it would ever matter if that were true or false.
The AP article posted earlier had a few mistakes in it which I caught right off the bat, two were when he said he went to Indonesia with his mother when he was two and saying his father had gone to Oxford when he had not. Jr liked to brag even back then, perhaps a measure of his arrogance.
The article I had originally read was in the NYT.
Thanks for the ping!
No transcript would show 'grade inflation', regardless of the reason for the upward adjustment of grades. Only the examination of the work itself would reveal disporportionately high grades for results produced.
A transcript would only show that there was a discrepancy between grades claimed and those received, and that discrepancy may not exist if considerations were made for (any) other reasons when he was graded on his work.
The obvious flaw in the argument of "racism" is that those who are advanced based on race and not strictly on achievement and proven ability are the ones who feed the perception that the applicant received their credentials not based on ability nor achievement, but race.
This fosters more of a 'racist' attitude, and is the fundamental conceptual failure of affirmative action set-asides and quotas, which nurture racism rather than defeat it.
A designated witness, reinforcing and embellishing the grandiose mythology. (With the memory aid of his book.)
Hat tip (or in my case, a curtsey) to 2ndDivisionVet for the find and to Ultra Sonic 007 for transcription.
This was written by the Oracle of Doritos...
(Apparently the two may have even been close comrades at Columbia.)
.
Boy, Ultra Sonic 007, I wish I could have saved you the trouble. I felt the same way you did and transcribed it on the 17th. LOL, I made a lot of errors and had to get the admin moderator to replace the body of my transcription with a corrected version.

BUMP
Well, who knew this guy was a retard and let him write this pablum that makes no sense and is, again, filled with flowery words.
I have to go make some loot and wondered it you would find the following link of value.
It is the Columbia University Archives. Maybe you can research the other Universities that supposedly, Barry went to?
The search function is at the top of the page
