It’s too bad that’s where it will end. Fitzgerald blew it by not letting Blagojevich go through with the deal with Jesse Jackson, Jr., or whomever was going to pay up for the Senate seat.

Blew the case against Blago, but probably saved Obama. Depends where Fitzgerald's loyalties really lie, I guess.

Fitzgerald knew exactly what he was doing. It was exposed at the point ‘just prior to’ the evidence (and awareness by the FBI) that Obama and his chief enforcer, Emanuel, actually committed a crime as opposed to the ‘appearance’ of impropriety. It was a Democrat ASS COVERING move, period.

Fitzgerald blew it by not letting Blagojevich go through with the deal with .....

Obama and Tribune were tipped off about the process......it appears Fitzgerald was deliberate and motivated to intervene prematurely to protect others before they impuned themselves.

Fitgerald didn't blow it. That was his plan. He arrested Blago to prevent other big name Democrats from getting in too deep and actually completing a deal with Blago.

The libs at the Chicago Tribune did it. Not Fitz. They worried that Rahm was going to be at the meeting as well and the ONE would be caught up in this nastiness, but because the ONE is perfect they took no chances and ran the story Friday (against Fitz’s requests) to make sure.

The weekend meeting with all the conspirators was canceled. Rod was already damaged goods, they did not want the corruption to hurt any of their favorites.
