Words mean things. Stand with those who stand on PRINCIPLE, whether any particular battle is won or lost. Put your money where your mouth is, etc.
If you're in a position to make a MODEST contribution to National Republican Congressional Committee (NOT the RNC!) as a tangible thank-you for standing up for you, please do so. (Congressional Republicans are the most accountable, with elections every two years.)
(Save back some for individual Senator contributions. I commend to you the Senators from OK and AL, for starters).
Not a dime for the RNC, however until they mend their ways.
If you can't donate just now, please pray for them and express your appreciation verbally.
And while you're at it, become a monthly FR donor and bailout the Freepathon!
(Be kind to animals--there is no provision for Viking Kitty Chow in the Bailout.)
Ping.
Actually, not a bad idea...after we get rid of the Free Republic banner of course.
Sorry, I’d suggest not making it to the RNCC but instead directly to the conservative members of your choice.
I trust the RNCC as far as I can throw it. Your money WILL go to support RINOs when push comes to shove in 2010. Remember, it isn't the "C"NCC, it is the "R" and Lord knows what will be left of it in a year or two.
I suggest telling your Congressman that you made a contribution in their honor to the new SarahPAC and come 2010, you will be there with direct support if they do what's expected the next time, and the next, and the next ....
But this is a good thought that you had, so keep doing it. :)
William Russell for Congress comes to mind
so does Michelle Bachmann for Congress

I'd rather throw my money down a hole and bury it. At least then I'd know that it wasn't going to be used against me and mine, and to empower the people who are helping to destroy my country.

Dear MoveOn Member:
Did you see how many Republicans voted for President Obama’s stimulus package in the House yesterday?
None. Seriously, not a single one.1
Americans voted overwhelmingly for change in November. We voted for an end to the partisan bickering and political games that are destroying our politics. And President Obama bent over backwards to get House Republicans to craft a bipartisan bill, to no avail.
As the bill moves to the Senate, we need bipartisan support, or the stimulus won’t pass. Senate Republicans need to know they have a clear choice: support a stimulus package that will put millions of Americans back to work, or continue to play the games that got us into this mess.
We’ve put together a powerful new ad to pressure the key senators. Can you chip in $25 to get it on the air immediately?

President Obama spent hours meeting with Republican leaders personally. He made painful compromises to win them over.2
But Republicans refused to play ball. They’re insisting on a plan that doesn’t invest a cent in green jobs or health care or education. They just want more tax cuts for the rich and for corporations, even though that’s part of what got us into this mess.3
GOP leaders will get their wayunless we can convince a few Republican senators who are on the fence.
Can you contribute $25 to our new ad to pressure swing-vote Republican senators? Click here:

Thanks for all you do.

I used the term *modest* for a reason...
The idea is to give just a taste of the support the BASE is eager to provide when properly represented.
The floodgates that opened despite McCain—for Palin—can open again.
Excellent ideas bump!
That vote yesterday was a much-needed shot in the arm. I’m feeling so much more positive...
hear -— hear!!!!!!! I made my donation last night.. I sent an email to my two senators this morning and told them I encourage them to support the congress and that as a thank you for standing against pork many of us are making a donation to the GOP RNCC this morning. I concur on the RNC.. not a dime! Either the RNCC, RNSC (if they straighten up) and direct donation to deserving candidates.
DON’T confuse some influential misrepresentatives with the GOP BASE.
Don’t cut-and-run. FIGHT for your brand.
The congressman running the RNCC now is Sessions, he is much more conservative than his predecessor...
I donated to both! I believe Murtha pulled some ACORN shenanigans and that is the reason he won. Russell was polling too close to Murtha for the range of the actual win Murtha pulled off.
You support them.
I won't give a dime to the RNCC and I would recommend that no one give them anything.
The RNCC, in 2006, violated their own rules and interfered in a local congressional PRIMARY race in Arizona. They gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to the already well-financed establishment RINO candidate who was spending all of his times spreading lies and engaging in vicious attacks against the conservative, pro-life Republican candidate. They spent RNCC money to continue to spread those lies and slander against the conservative candidate and there was nothing that the grassroots Republicans could do about it.
The conservative candidate ended up winning the Primary election. Barely. But the weeks of slanderous attacks had taken their toll. As had the increased amount of campaign spending that was needed to win the Primary against this well-financed, establishment-backed candidate. The Democrat opponent simply had to repeat the attacks made by the RNCC-backed candidate and even bring up the fact that the RNCC opposed the conservative candidate and it was nearly a cake walk for the liberal Democrat candidate to win.
RNCC's gross interference and stupidity flipped a long-held Republican congressional district over to the Democrats.
RNCC!? No thanks. Give you money to a conservative candidate and keep it out of the hands of groups like the RNCC who back RINO candidates.
As I posted in other words, I support those among the (R)s who stand for Founding, Constitutional principles.
That’s still a lot of the elected and a crucial percentage of the base.
Abandoning or splitting that would benefit you and the USA just how?
same here.
I live in MN. Bachmann is one of the few good things from here and Murtha is a traitor.
