Nothing odd about it at all. He’s not naive, he’s a traitor. He’s a Muslim foreigner and his interests are not our interests. He virtually says so in his strange speech, referring to “the Americans,” as if he’s not one of us.

You are absolutely right, livius. Obama's Al-Arabiya appearance was both horrifying and disastrous.

Key points from the article:

1. Obama wants to have unconditional talks with Iranian leaders. In response, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said no talks are possible unless the U.S. meets a set of preconditions, including this: "...America should withdraw its troops from other countries, "taking them back to their own territory."

2. Obama asked Iran only for a change of style. Ahmadinejad asked for concrete US moves, notably a global military retreat.

3. Obama said: "Iran has acted in ways not conducive to peace and prosperity in the region." He also claimed that Iran's support for terrorists, though "not helpful," is a thing of the past. Yet Iran continues to supply weapons to Hamas and Hezbollah, and continues to build nuclear weapons.

4. Obama cast himself in the role of a "bridge" between America and the Muslim world -- as though he stands apart from the U.S. To hammer in the point, he recalled the Muslim part of his own family background and his childhood in Muslim Indonesia. He also asserted that America is a land of "Muslims, Christians, Jews" and others -- making sure to mention Muslims first.

The Post says Obama "carefully avoided" the topic of his Muslim background during the campaign. No, he didn't avoid it. He lied about it, repeatedly saying (and having his minions say) that he is a Christian. Even his Muslim middle name was off limits during the campaign. Now, less than two weeks after his inauguration, Obama is touting his Muslim background as a reason why the Iranians and the Arab world should trust and work with him.

From the earliest days of the campaign, many of us on the Right believed Obama was a Trojan horse. Horrifying though the implications are, it looks like we were correct. Obama has his political opponents at home divided and demoralized. Currently, there is nothing standing in his way. It is beyond critical and imperative for those of us on the Right to rediscover our common ground, stop quarreling with each other, and work together to face our real enemies.

Looks like a lot of people will be missing President Bush and Vice President Cheney much sooner than anyone, other than us, ever expected. Someone please consider pinging the latest Dose pinglist, because this news about Obama's little chat with Al Arabiya needs to be spread as far and wide as possible. Thanks.

Yup.
