We’re going to be charging others for “Hate Crimes” more often and easier than ever, suing each other for descrimination, destroying business for race and sex issues...you name it. How many jobs will this create?
He has spent his entire working life insulated from realities of the market place. His income has been from govt, academia, publishing, and nonprofits. He's lived off the largesse of foundations, public treasuries, and the First Amendment.
And like the typical RAT he has no appreciation for what the rest of the business world has to put up with to survive.

ABSOLUTE STUPIDITY. Absolute stupidity, but this is what the Obama Presidency is really about. So let this stupidity be applied to all businesses, accross the board, including the business of sports. The superstar pass receivers must now find that their run-of-the-mill pass receiver teammates are making the same money they are. They are doing the same job, both are busting their humps to be their best, both are in the starting squads, they are equal according to Obama; they must now earm the same pay. But of course this will never happen, the stupid liberals understand that job performance is the determining factor in a person's pay, not people doing the same job. This is all about blacks and other "minorities" getting something they may not deserve. This is the sort of "hope" and "change" that Obama has been promising. As my father said before he died, "I'm glad to have seen America the way it used to be". I know exactly what he meant, and I couldn't agree more. We once used our intelligence and common sense as our national modus operandi, now we operate on the basis of a horribly flawed "equality" system instead of rewarding performance, ability and qualification. God help America.
In the Ayn Rand book ANTHEM, everyone is equal. So occupation is assigned by the government.

Can Microsoft workers who work as hard and put in as many hours as Bill Gates demand that they receive "equal pay"?

Not so far-fetched. I remember reading of a senario just like this under Mao. The Dr had been dispatched for whatever reason, and Mao brought in a young girl who was actually an aide or something and ordered her to perform the operation that the Dr had been doing.
She refused, saying she didn't know how to do it. This was wrong in Mao's eyes, as everyone was equal, or at least had to pretend so. The girl was shot on the spot.

I wonder how long it will be before everyone has to have an "equal evaluation" now. What if you have a slug that barely gets his / her work done and you give them a bad evaluation?
Are they talking about the SAME job or an EQUIVALENT job? I seem to remember a big effort a few years ago to pass a law about same pay for so-called "equivalent" jobs.
IIRC "equivalent" jobs might be typist and electrician....both probably high school grad jobs. It would have been a (feminist) government employee who determined what jobs were "equivalent."

If you have 100 employees, you have 100 job descriptions so no one is doing the same job.
