Ok kids... I've signed on for Tom's list. I'm currently acting as PoC for my home State of MN. As stated, this is a pre-caution. This is one step for getting active and an attempt to "do something" other than whine on the Internet or join up with yet another failed letter writing campaign.

You don't have to join this list. Form your own. Find those people you shoot with, go bowling with, have an after Church lunch with, that would interested in answering a call during an all out TEOTWAWKI/SHTF scenario.

If you have been active at all on the Internet, with the NRA, or politically, then more than likely you are already on some government list or another. Paranoia over this may be warranted, but if your tinfoil is wrapped that tight already, this isn't going to add to it much.

Things are getting bad out there folks. Luck favors the prepared.

Excellent and about time, I’ve already been contacting like minded neighbors, but I will start expanding my personal network and getting the message out...

As you previously stated... and that is something I was taught in the military... Luck ALWAYS favors the prepared.

As much as I've been hammering my Federal Congress critters for their unconstitutional transgressions over the years, Mil and LEO experience, Rifle/Pistol Comp, RKBA/NRA/GOA Activism... yeah I'm pretty sure I've made quite a few "lists" over the years... so one more definitely wont hurt. ;-)

Even though it would be a fool's venture to attempt,(confiscation) I will remain ever vigilant.

Has anyone EVER met someone who is willing to disarm? (considering they are already armed)

Also, if someone in particular in your group is pressuring you to obtain illegal weapons, commit acts of violence, or other such things, he’s probably a BATFE informant.

A friend and I have talked recently about trying to put together a “Constitution Study Group,” for the purpose of establishing communication links between like-minded people. Not so much weapon-oriented, paramilitary stuff (though I’m intensely devoted to RKBA), but rather learn who shares beliefs and attitudes and what knowledge and skills they can bring. Conservatives (and certainly shooters) are generally independent types who don’t organize in this manner very often. I myself tend to be pretty reclusive. In this present climate that’s a glaring weakness.

Thank you for posting this! It's an excellent and very well researched piece.

I know that I'm definitely on a few "lists" somewhere and, quite frankly, don't give a damn. When/if they come for my guns I will NOT give them up willingly - my friends and family know this and accept it. I would rather die a patriot than live as a slave. I will be contacting Tom to add my name to his list and will, if necessary, do everything in my power to protect our Republic.

While on our honeymoon, my new bride and I had an opportunity to meet someone who has never been to America but wishes to in the near future. And though our meeting spanned the amount of time it took her to braid the hair of my new wife, the time we spent talking was far more valuable than hours of conversation spent with an average “dote.”

As many of you know, and perhaps some of you may not, I was married to my beautiful sweetheart this past Saturday (January 31st) and left the following day on a honeymoon to the Western Caribbean. We visited the island of Roatan (Honduras), Belize, and Cozumel, Mexico. The time away was relaxing and I feel that I caught up on some much needed rest; at least for another year. =) While walking the “tourist portion” in Belize, vendors held out their goods for sale and solicited us to enter their stores. We kindly smiled and passed each of them while walking along the cobblestone walkway. When we were approached by a young woman asking for hair-braiding, we immediately accepted (Darlene wanted her hair braided and this was an opportunity; you can see her in braids below).

She quickly took us off the “beaten-path” and we ended up in between two (2) small buildings on top of a pallet carpeted by torn wallpaper and shaded by corrugated metal for a roof. Not an appealing area at best but I kept my mind open and put my faith in her (while remaining alert to our surroundings). While braiding Darlene’s hair, I quickly discovered just how educated she was.

I asked her for her name: “Erica she said, but everyone around here calls me Mama Dreads,” appropriate for the way she had her hair.

I asked her about her education and how she knew English so well (she sounded like an American College Grad with top grades in literature). She was born speaking English she told me and though she had such a command over it, she had no goals to pursue a graduates degree. I eventually turned the conversation towards her native country (Belize) and its political-state.

She shared the history of their democracy and how they are free to vote for their Prime Minister and other public officials. She even spoke of how everyone in Belize loves the government model of America and how they all love new United States President, Barack Obama. I finally asked her, “Are people allowed to own firearms in Belize?” Her immediate answer, “Oh no. The government doesn’t let anyone own guns. They try to put it into your head that owning a gun is dangerous and only criminals own guns.”

She informed me that anyone caught with a firearm will serve a mandatory prison sentence yet voiced her frustration that it only keeps the guns out of the law abiding citizens. She said she even lived in a bad part of town and feared for her safety so often that her cousin was going to help her get a pistol on the “black-market” for her personal protection.

“But you’ll go to jail,” I said to her.

“I don’t care. I’m 22-years old and there’s a lot of bad men where I live.” I felt courageous for this young woman.

She continued by sharing with me the unjust encroachments of the government but people can’t do anything about it. Workers are deported from the country for suggesting formations of a union. Farms and ranches that might compete with the government are shut down and the owners are pushed out of town by the military and local law enforcement.

“Do they have guns?” I asked.

“Yes. They’re the government!” My heart filled with sorrow and I truly wanted to cry.

She finished her braiding and I paid her the going rate and even tipped her an additional amount for the conversation. I encouraged her to go to school to better her education and seek to come to America and become a citizen; legally!

Brothers and sisters, I have come to this conclusion from a dream I had in the past two-weeks and feel even more of a conviction after speaking with this young woman from Belize. It is not liberty if it is not whole. It is not freedom if it is not whole. Even if a sliver of liberty is taken from the whole, then liberty altogether fails. You cannot have freedom, unless it is complete. When Patrick Henry told the Virginia Convention in March, 1775, “give me liberty or give me death,” I really don’t think he was looking for a negotiated freedom. He wanted it all; unbroken, unfettered, and with no strings attached. Said he, “Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death!”

I stand with him in saying, “Forbid it. In the name of our Heavenly Father, forbid it!”

May our Father in Heaven have mercy on each of us as we appeal unto Him for our redresses.

Organization in the entire call-tree is becoming solid and we are quickly approaching Phase II of our project.  Phase I has always been focused on the organization of a network of communication and the past 10-weeks has seen well-regulation in this area.  We did experience a few “speed bumps” but it’s those that make us stronger.

 

Before I discuss Phase II of our project, I want to address logistics.  The Southeast Region has become very large and discussions have been held over the past week in regards to its size.  As a result of these discussions, it was decided to split the Southeast Region into the Southeast and South.  A new Regional POC to oversee the new South Region has been identified and will be announced next week; Jim Horton will remain as the POC over the Southeast United States.  A diagram of how the Alarm & Muster Regions will be divided can be seen here.

 

For those of you who have not had any contact w/ your POCs (state or region), please do so quickly or you will be left behind in our growth and will result in you being left out.  The aim of the Alarm & Muster is communication and the only direction is forward.

 

With the growth of our tree, Phase II will be implemented in the next few weeks.  The latter months of 1774 into the early months of 1775, the colonials had perfected their network of communication to the point that they had designated “muster locations.”  A gentleman in northern Florida is already doing this and the entire network should do the same.  More on this will be discussed at a later time.

 

For now, I am announcing that… ready or not?  The call-tree test will be implemented this week

 

At a time of my choosing, I will make a call to all of the Regional POCs with the words, “Call to Muster.  This is a test of the Alarm & Muster.  Ride out.”  It will be their duty to call their State POCs and relay to them the same.  State POCs, it will be your duty to contact your POCs under you and so on.  For those of you who have independent lists, if you’d like to integrate them into the test, inform them of a coming test this week.  When the call comes to you from your POC, then you make your calls to your tree.  This is not a time for phone conversations or “pleasantries.”  Ride-out, alert those you have stewardship over, and ride on to the next town.  Don’t linger!

 

After the test is implemented, I will be asking the Regional POCs to collect feedback.  I will also have sleepers in the group to report to me as to whether they received a call or not.  So if you’re a Regional, State, District, or Camp POC, be sure your own tree is “in order.” 

 

Pictured above is a mustard tree.  If you have not had the opportunity to hold a mustard seed in your hand, go to your local grocer into the spice section, find mustard seeds, and see just how small they are.  Just one of those seeds, if properly nurtured, sprouts into the tree pictured above.  We are a seedling project and just as a mustard seed grows into a large tree so birds may nest in its branches, so shall we grow to shelter those around us who are unable to shelter themselves.
