There's a serious debate in this country as to how best to end the recession. The average recession will last five to 11 months; the average recovery will last six years. Recessions will end on their own if they're left alone. What can make the recession worse is the wrong kind of government intervention.
I believe the wrong kind is precisely what President Barack Obama has proposed. I don't believe his is a "stimulus plan" at all -- I don't think it stimulates anything but the Democratic Party. This "porkulus" bill is designed to repair the Democratic Party's power losses from the 1990s forward, and to cement the party's majority power for decades.

I’ll be interested to see how much coverage the “drive-by media” give this tomorrow. Or will they just ignore it.
I think it will be a VERY BIG story.
It should be quite entertaining tomorrow.
BTTT
I have a question for Obama. If government spending will get us out of a recession, how did we enter one in the first place? It isn’t as though the government suddenly stopped spending a year ago. In fact, the huge increase we’ve seen in spending since 2006 should have made a recession an impossibility.

RUSH PING!
What he is going to have to do, one way or the other, is stop taking our money from us.
Things have a way of becoming much clearer once you stop letting the other side define the terms of the debate.
I think it is a well written piece and great idea. Of course, if it were enacted and the economy rebounded, no doubt the media would proclaim that it was the spending that worked, not the tax cuts. In terms of results, I don’t know how you would identify the cause of the success, and I feel certain that the media would attribute any economic improvement to Obama’s portion of the plan. So unfortunately, it would be difficult to use it as precedent on how to handle future economic downturns. It probably would end the current economic dilemma, but it would not end the argument.
Great information over there!
Let's see if Mr. "NoPork" MeCain bows to the false messiah.
I think rush is giving the Democrats Obamaroids.
