LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Well over a million people shivered in ice-bound homes across the country Wednesday, waiting for warmer weather and for utility crews to restring power lines brought down by a storm that killed 23 as it took a snowy, icy journey from the Southern Plains to the East Coast. But with temperatures plunging, utility officials warned that it could be mid-February before electricity is restored to some of the hardest-hit places.

People dying, power out for weeks, freezing weather, icy roads, a disaster hitting directly at the heart of the country's biggest retailer.

And Obama basically called us weak and to send the kids to school, ice or no ice. I just about busted my rear on the ice a few times, not to mention having to get my car pushed once today. Sending kids to school on buses on ice covered roads would have been disasterous.

Our power was out once for five days after a tornado hit the area. I feel very sorry for these people. At least it was October and not so cold. We spent alot of time sleeping. And actually met some neighbors we rarely saw and never talked to...
