State department officials have written at least three drafts of the letter, which gives assurances that Washington does not want to overthrow the Islamic regime but merely seeks a change in its behaviour. The letter would be addressed to the Iranian people and sent directly to Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, or released as an open letter.

The sellout to our enemies continues. He is “so being suckered in” isn’t he? First the news that he says the troups will be out Iraq, then he gives the notion that he’s reconsidering the missile in Poland, and how he’s mailing a letter to Iran’s leaders. The red (or yellow if you prefer) streak going down his back is getting more apparent every day.
It reminds me of the scene in “Independence Day” when the happy, jolly, peaceniks on top of the tall building greeting the enemy ship looked up with such promise of peace and BANG the ship took em out with one BOOM.
Ah, that would be the Western war adverse approach. The jihadist approach is entirely different: They see themselves as at war (perpetually), and they therefor follow the doctrine of attacking enemies when those enemies show weakness. And oh boy, is the zero showing weakness!

No, I think it's his voters. He is a friend of Rashid Khalidi, his supporter. I don't think anyone here is suprised. Others may be, however.
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran said on Wednesday it would welcome President Barack Obama's offer of a change in U.S. policy provided it involved a withdrawal of U.S. troops from abroad and an apology for past "crimes" against Tehran.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was speaking after Obama offered to extend a hand of peace if Iran "unclenched its fist."
Ahmadinejad's not shy about the preconditions. Is Obama working on an apology to meet A-man's preconditions?

He really believes in kumbaya. It’s Bush’s fault. If only Bush had been more understanding Iran wouldn’t be developing nuclear weapons. Bush never made the effort to sit down and have a compassionate talk. But Big O can fix it! Let’s all join hands, sing and become one with the world. Then Iran nukes Israel.
There is one scene from that movie that I wish could be played out now, but only with the GOP is out of town. I think know which scene I’m referring to.
