Lilncoln changed “states rights” dramatically and forever altered that formula... I think that affects everything you see prior to that time or references to what the founders did and thought prior to that time.

Yep, you just did catch me. I knew someone would bring up the Civil War and its "settlement" of the issue. Consider the Civil War as only a battle in an ongoing war and it might change your outlook?

Okay, first — get going! LOL...

Secondly..., yes, I do see it as an ongoing battle. But, it’s limited because I don’t think it will ever go back to the way it was prior to the Civil War. I’m not sure exactly what things may be limited and what are not, but I know the Civil War was a “one-way passageway” through that event.

One thing that I think can be clearly said, we’ll never see the “door open” to any state removing themselves from the Union, that’s for sure...

Any more than that... well.., we do have this discussion board... :-)
