About $90 million that would have been cut from the budget is being spared.

Items that Crist vetoed, meaning they will stay in the budget, include:

Gee, where do they think the $2.3 billion is going to come from I wonder? Oh, let me guess, federal economic “stimulus” plan tax dollars.

How is 90 million from 2.5 billion almost a quarter?

Agreed. Lets put that in perspective. $2.4 Billion cuts out of $2.5 is alot.

Lets not take $90 mil out of proportion.

29 mil for teachers, WTH

23 mil for food stamps, mental health etc

I despair I really do.

Here’s a thought if you cannot afford kids do not have any, I am fed up of seeing mothers with 3 and 4 4 kids in toe using food stamps and WIC.

There is one family who lives in a beautiful area, rents or has bought a condo and yet I see them with 3 shopping carts full only to be paid by food stamps and WIC

Meanwhile we work hard and waited to have kids until we could afford kids.

They should cut all of these benefits along with free breakfast and lunch at schools

There are kids who get free breakfast and lunch and yet they went back to work.
They the parent stake the summer off every year and fill out forms saying they have no income and then after the summer they go back to work and have all these freebies.

Meanwhile some mothers drive a Lexus etc, eat at burger king ,wendy’s etc but they have their kids getting free breakfast and lunch

It is outrageous and I’m fed up of it

According to the projected deficit, the cuts balance Florida’s budget, even with what Crist left in place (which I don’t think is very egregious at all). That’s more than most states (and by most I mean more than half) can say.

“Since when does Florida have to spend $22 million to promote tourism???”

It’s not so different from Dominos spending $22 million to promote pizza. Here in Monroe County Florida (the Florida Keys), we get the money from a hotel bed tax. I don’t know if the state has something similar.

I would be thrilled if my Governor (AHHHHNOLD) cut $2.40 out of the budget.

“How is 90 million from 2.5 billion almost a quarter?”

My guess is that the author thought 2.5 billion was what was left after the 90 billion in cuts.

Yeah, I see that now. I didn’t realize that they overshot their objective. My apologies to Florida. I tend to shoot first and ask questions later in matters of using federal tax dollars slated for economic stimulus for purposes other than economic stimulus.
