Congressional Republicans are like prisoners of war (POWs). They fought a war in 2008 with Democrats and lost - a losing strategy and a weak liberal commander (Sen. John McCain) aided in their defeat.
Prisoners of war often go to their captors complaining about living conditions, maltreatment and a host of other issues. The Republicans in Washington remind me of POWs when they go to the Democratic camp commandant (President Obama) and complain about legislation and proceedings and about being ignored and snubbed.
Congressional Republicans are pitiful in their lack of power to affect anything in Congress, at least for the next four years. Their only chance of freedom or some return to power might come in 2010 should their party gain a lot of seats in the Congress, but that is a long shot.
Even though the captors (Democrats) have certain rules and agreements to which they must adhere as covered in the Geneva Convention, the prisoners should not put too much stock in them keeping those agreements.
With lack of power and no reasonable way to be heard, congressional Republicans are confined to windowless backrooms ringed by the barbed wire of failure and the cold walls of indifference.
It is a pitiful sight indeed, a once grand and powerful force brought low by following a "moderate" war plan.

Well said. Hope they all read this.
If they were "enemy combatants" and in GITMO they would have rock star status by now. Some people have all the luck.
After growling and barking a little, they rolled over onto their backs like whimpering dogs
There fixed it for ya... ;-)
Two years until the mid-term elections. Two years for Obama and Company to piss away the public’s trust and confidence and they have already started.
I haven’t clicked the link so I don’t know if the writer said this, but some of the primary duties of POWs are to RESIST THE ENEMY, and to OPPOSE THE ENEMY. Our RINOS want to appease, cave, become the enemey.
EXCELLENT post FRiend, and I noted that the writer’s name is “Jimmie Hollis”, and if Mr. Hollis should see this, I suggest that he ought to sign up with Free Republic because we need more of his kind of thinking around here!
It's a long shot because when they had power, they abused it, squandered it and failed to distinguish themselves from the dems.
Great article!!
More like a bad case of Stockholm Syndrome.
GOP Congresional leaders thank Obama for the nice suits.
We the great unwashed citizenry must pick up the cudgels for them. We must inspire them to fight for us as we are inspired to keep fighting for them.
We, the citizens, will have to show smarts on a lot of levels in order to keep this enemy off balance. Our putting pressure on them increases the chances they will make a misstep that hurts them.
It’s only this way if the RINOS allow it.
While some people are suggesting the recent Elizabeth Smart kidnapping sounds like a case of Stockholm Syndrome, the most famous incident in the U.S. involved the kidnapped heiress Patty Hearst. Captured by a radical political group known as the Symbionese Liberation Army in 1974, Ms. Hearst eventually became an accomplice of the group, taking on an assumed name and assisting them in several bank robberies. After her re-capture, she denounced the group and her involvement.
What causes Stockholm Syndrome? Captives begin to identify with their captors initially as a defensive mechanism, out of fear of violence. Small acts of kindness by the captor are magnified, since finding perspective in a hostage situation is by definition impossible. Rescue attempts are also seen as a threat, since it's likely the captive would be injured during such attempts.
It's important to note that these symptoms occur under tremendous emotional and often physical duress. The behavior is considered a common survival strategy for victims of interpersonal abuse, and has been observed in battered spouses, abused children, prisoners of war, and concentration camp survivors.

Conservatives must vehemently protest this takeover of America or we’re doomed to living in a dictatorship. Freepers will be sent to Liberal re-education camps. Liberals, IMO, are domestic terrorists on a par with Al Qaeda. Both want to destroy the USA.
Any Republican that sides with Liberals on anything must be voted OUT! Call RINO’s and tell them they will be replaced at the first opportunity. IMO, a RINO is a Liberal RAT.
Far too many so called Republicans DIDN’T fight or even act like Republicans, that’s the problem.

Ouch! That left a mark.
You know, I’ve been thinking (really). If the Republicans would refuse to take part in the doings of the congress, it would really put the dims in a very bad fix. If the Repubs. just sit out all the bills before them, or maybe vote “present”, the everything would have to be the dims fault. The dims do not wish to be blamed for anything and that is why they keep trying to convince the Repubs to “be bipartisan”. That way they can always blame the Repubs if things go wrong. They have effectively shut out the GOP from taking part in debating the legislation but they want their vote so they can say, “It would never have passed if the Republicans had not voted with us)” I would love to see the specticle of all the Republican congressmen “on strike”.
I think no matter what, the rats will blame the repubs and get away with it. First off the republocants have no spine whatsoever, they are hamstrung by political correctness and weak wills. The Rats have a strong propaganda machine in the media and will pin everything on the repubs.
