I want the names of ANY with an “R” after their names who do sign on to it!

As pointed out earlier, Dems are looking for cover. This is the definition of lipstick on a pig (I am done with pork references for the rest of the thread).

If memory serves, in 1993 zero Republicans in the house voted for Clinton's budget. That got the GOP the "Contract with America" class of 1995. There are many lessons to be learned from history.

It's time to stop “urging” the party members and start telling them.

Its the only logical choice.
If the Republicans don’t oppose the stimulus, they have no issue to run on when the program fails to provide the promised results. Indeed, the GOP will end up being blamed for the failure of the bipartisan measure when it fails as “not enough was done”.

Good point. Boehner and Cantor seems to have come to his senses. I expect the Dems to go to the press and talk about how the Republicans are listening to Rush and they don’t want the country to move forward, but if they really think it is going to stimulate the economy, then they have the votes to pass it. Something tells me that there will be several blue dogs who will have to be waterboarded to get them to come on board. Obama may have to expend some capital to get this one through.

If it fails it will be because the Dems didn’t want the blood on their hands exclusively. They can pass it if they want, but they will have to do some arm twisting among the blue dogs.

All republicans should be urged to vote ‘present’.

Time for REAL Republicans to stand up for America and just say, Hell NO!About time leadership came out and said to vote NO. Boehner is so much better with Cantor by his side then before. I really like Eric Cantor. This new leadership team is not rolling over so far.

Too bad they didn’t find some backbone a few years ago when it would have made a difference.

A little to early for that type of brazen contempt. HOWEVER, give it about 6 months and if Obama can't get Pelosi under control, I think your suggestion may go down as one of the biggest burns in modern history if the GOP did it.

I don’t know how much our emails mean to our reps, but they get plenty from this side of the fence. NO STIMULUS, NO SELL OUT OF AMERICA!

When liberals attempt to give advice to their opponents and try to “save the Republicans reputation” and avoid being the “No” party ... you know, they know, their ideas have no merit and will sink this country (if it could go any further down).
If ONE, Republican in either the house or senate vote for this nightmare, it will be hailed as a bipartisan bill and the Repubs will get all the blame.
This is the Repubs last chance, and they know it. If they blow it, they know that not one of them will live long enough to ever see a Repub majority in either of the chambers let along the White House.
