GALVESTON, Texas – A slain toddler tried to stop her mother and stepfather from beating her to death by reaching out to her mother and saying, "I love you," a prosecutor told jurors Tuesday. The pleas from 2-year-old Riley Ann Sawyers didn't stop her mother, Kimberly Trenor, from continuing to brutalize her, assistant district attorney Kayla Allen said in her opening statement at Trenor's murder trial.

That is one of the saddest things I have ever read. My eyes are literally full of tears.
These kind of cut-and-dried cases should take 1 week, and end with the murderers dying in the exact same fashion as their victims.
Man, i just can’t imagine this. I can’t imagine doing this to a pet, if a person did that to my pet they’d be leaving my house in a meatwagon. To do it to a child that is part you (the mom in this case) is beyond words.

What is wrong with people???? I will gladly adopt any infant if you cannot take care of it. I am not rich but I am positive I can provide a better environment that this toddler had
I know what you mean. I had to make my wife to stop reading it since she was shaking and crying. What the hell are they saying about life in prison? They ought to be hanged!

Why, why, why...
Why there MUST be a merciful and just God, because otherwise this is a cruel, cruel joke on us all. This precious child is with the Lord now and I have no doubt she is experiencing utter joy and peace. May God have mercy on her mother’s soul. That lady needs it.
