I'll send you over to Dinah Lord, who found this, and just reprint a little teaser below. But can all of these things be coincidences?
A) Homeland Security announces an non-specific threat against President Obama from Somalia's al Qaeda affiliate, the al-Shebaab. Possibly a threat conveyed through the internet?
B) The al Shebaab's U.S. hosted website was ordered shut down, after over a year of operating openly, by the federal government. Bill Warner tells me he was tipped that the website would be shut down last week and some activity trying to archive pictures showing the faces of jihadis in Somalia from the website before it went down.
C) 15 Somalians, some of them reported as American citizens and the rest reported as living in the United States for some time, were arrested in Somaliland -- an autonomous region in Somalia with no sympathies to the Salfi insurgents.
Coincidence? Maybe, but my gut says no. It's a bit of a connect the dots, but all indications are that the Shebaab website (and some affiliated message boards) was doing more than simply conveying information from the mujahideen in Somalia. It was being used to recruit Somalis to the battlefield. With its closure there is no doubt that others will take its place, but for me I say good riddance to a website which has been a thorn in our side for some time.
The down side, of course, being that the website was an obvious boon for intel. Ambiguity. Get used to it.
48 hours before the inauguration, US Customs officials arrested Bile Abdullahi, a resident alien from Minnesota at the Canadian border near Detroit. Please keep those tips about Somalia coming.
According to federal charges, Abdullahi was trying to sneak into Canada using his brother's passport....
Abdullahi told officials he was going to Canada for a vacation, but intelligence officials fear it could've been some kind of dress rehearsal for leaving the country in a hurry.
Seen this?
Must not have money to buy a snowmobile and simply drive across? Regardless, biometrics are known to work and Big Bro is watching....
He’ll be treated accordingly. Now if this happened at the Mexican border...
Canada in January is magnet for vacationing Somalians! :)
al shebaab?

Yup...hey Juan...drop a bail by accident while crossing...I mean, Juan don’t forget your buddies!! It’s called a crossing fee, Juan. BTW how’s the family, Juan?
Well, guess training isn’t emphasized when your trainee is excited about blowing himself up??
FYI
Seal the Borders!!!!
Yup. The Compean and Ramos factor...It’s nice that our new liberal hag in charge of DHS, Janet Napolitano would criticize the Canadian border when she simply couldn’t say the same thing about the mexican border.
Oh you are too kind with the word ‘Hag’....lol!! NWO prime candidate from the get go. There’s a lot fewer problems trickling in now from the north this time of the year than the south. This is the preferred time of year on the southern border to ‘coyote in’...lots of trophy panties being added to some trees now.
Thank you for the ping Ernest:

Connect the dots: Many of the Somalis are from St. Cloud, MN.
Man-portable anti-aircraft missiles, to shoot passenger jets out of the sky on takeoff or landing.

You are correct about the “problems” in the north. But I will tell you this because I grew up in Vancouver BC, there are LOTS of border portions in Saskathewan, Manitoba and Alberta that are unguarded but only a few insane people would dare cross it in the dead of winter.
Thanks, now I have that song stuck in my head
Somalis Leaving U.S. for Jihad

Pajamas Media | Friday, December 12, 2008 The funeral for Shirwa Ahmed last week in Burnsville, Minnesota, punctuated a growing national security threat metastasizing inside the U.S. one Homeland Security and law enforcement authorities have quickly taken note of. Ahmed, who killed himself in a suicide bombing attack in Somalia in October, is just one of up to 40 men from the Twin Cities area who have disappeared and are feared to have returned to their homeland for training with the al-Shabaab terrorist group to wage jihad. The FBI is investigating similar disappearances in other major Somali communities in Columbus, OH, Atlanta, Boston, San Diego, and Seattle. There are even reports coming from Europe, recently from Denmark, of Somali men returning home to fight with al-Shabaab and other terrorist organizations.
ABC News also reports that a Somali from Boston, Tarek Mehenna, a U.S. citizen, was arrested last month on his way to Somalia to wage jihad after being in contact with Daniel Maldonado, a Muslim convert currently in federal prison after pleading guilty to training at a Somali terror training camp after being captured in Kenya with a Somali terrorist cell.
